MarineCFO Management Team Expands

VerticaLive, the parent company of MarineCFO, has announced that long time trusted advisor, Jimmy Treuting, has accepted the position of CEO effective January 1, 2016. Jimmy has been a pioneer and entrepreneur in the technology industry for more than 25 years. His vision was instrumental in the successful retooling of MarineCFO into a profitable SaaS company following the acquisition of MarineCFO by VerticaLive in 2013. Jimmy has placed the highest priority on the MarineCFO product line, including the new on-vessel Vessel Live product, and also on adding more value to existing MarineCFO customers. Rocky Marchiano joined the MarineCFO team last summer as a consultant on Sub Chapter M.

MarineCFO Unveils Endurance Software

Capitalizing on its 2013 acquisition by software firm VerticaLive, MarineCFO has announced a Fall 2015 introduction of Endurance, a cloud version of the MarineCFO Enterprise Solution. “MarineCFO has proactively sought to bring efficiency, ease of use and affordability to the broader marine transportation market,” said Dean Shoultz, MarineCFO Chief Technology Officer. “We have simplified the shipboard user interface and improved upon existing MarineCFO Enterprise functionality. “SaaS creates an environment whereby a marine operator doesn’t worry about IT infrastructure, payroll for IT staff or updates to software. That’s all part of the cost savings and benefits of our Endurance product line,” explained Rocky Marchiano, MarineCFO Vice President of Business Development.

Germanischer Lloyd Gives Nod to CORSAIR TVR v.2

Baker Lyman's software is only approved Towing Vessel Record. Classification giant Germanischer Lloyd (GL) granted Type-Approval to Baker, Lyman & Co (BL) for their cutting-edge Towing Vessel Record software, CORSAIR TVR v.2, effective November 1, 2012. The software Type-Approval by Germanischer Lloyd solidifies CORSAIR TVR v.2's position as the exclusive regulatorily defined record-keeping process for Sub-Chapter M. Moreover, this latest action conceivably tightens Baker Lyman's grip on the impending Sub-Chapter M market in conjunction with their TSMS Transition Program.

TSMS Transition Program Debuts at SUNY Towing Forum

Baker, Lyman & Co. will offer UTV operators a unique opportunity to review the TSMS Transition Program though an hour long interactive presentation during the October 17, 2012 Towing Forum at SUNY Maritime. TSMS, or Towing Safety Management System, is the result of the long awaited Sub-Chapter M Rules by which towing vessels become subject to USCG safety management inspection. The TSMS Transition Program allows Sub-Chapter M impacted operators to enroll into a regulatorily certified Towing Safety Management System prior to the Sub-Chapter M Final Rule.

Baker Lyman Taps TBS for RCP-TSMS Transition Plan

Baker, Lyman & Co. announced the appointment of Tug & Barge Solutions, LLC (TBS) as the lead implementation manager for Baker Lyman’s signature “RCP-TSMS Model Transition Plan”. The USCG’s proposed Towing Safety Management System (TSMS) has received much industry attention since the release of the Sub-Chapter M Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in August, 2011. Baker Lyman’s “RCP-TSMS Model Transition Plan” allows current AWO RCP companies to enroll into a statutorily certified TSMS process prior to the Sub-Chapter M Final Rule, according to Corinne Titus, Baker Lyman’s CEO.
