Port of Aberdeen Banks on Offshore Wind for Future Growth

Port of Aberdeen has welcomed more than 100 vessels working on offshore wind projects to the port so far this year, including the latest arrival of the Blue Tern jack-up installation vessel.Owned by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, the Blue Tern jack-up is a 151-meter-long, 50-meter-wide vessel equipped with an 800-ton crane, and has recently sailed into the new Aberdeen South Harbour.Roddy James, Chief Commercial Officer, Port of Aberdeen, said: “Offshore wind is our most significant opportunity for growth over the next decade.

N-Sea Expands Fleet with OSCV

Subsea IMR provider, N-Sea, has increased its fleet through the long term charter of Siem Offshore’s offshore subsea construction vessel, the Siem Barracuda. The vessel is equipped specifically for subsea IMR, Survey and construction operations, featuring twin WROVs, moonpool deployed, a 250T AHC crane and accommodation for 110 personnel. Roddy James, Chief Operating Officer at N-Sea, said: “The Siem Barracuda has added another highly efficient dive support and survey vessel to the N-Sea fleet. Its technical specifications not only increase our capabilities across the subsea IRM field, but also build upon the safe, efficient ethos for which N-Sea is renowned. “This is a state-of-the-art subsea vessel, which increases our ability to operate within greater parameters of harsh weather.

N-Sea Opens Office in Dubai

As part of its continuing global growth strategy, subsea IMR provider N-Sea has announced the opening of a new office in Dubai, with operations due to commence as early as August 2016. The new base will support N-Sea’s increased presence in the region, allowing the company to conduct diving, ROV and survey projects in the civil engineering and offshore markets throughout the UAE. The company has appointed Asa Gamble as Managing Director for the Middle East region, who will be responsible for the establishment and growth of all N-Sea services and products in the region. Stork Technical Services Subsea, the subsea division of the leading global provider of knowledge-based asset integrity management services for the oil and gas, chemical and power sectors, today announces it will create 10 new positions and invest £2million in its vessel fleet after securing a raft of new contracts. Stork Technical Services lands major West Africa subsea inspection project. Stork Technical Services (Stork), the leading global provider of knowledge-based asset integrity management services for the chemical, oil and gas and power sectors, today announces a major £10million contract win for subsea inspection activity with a major operator, offshore West Africa.
