Kirch leaves Hapag-Lloyd
Roland Kirch, 38, member of the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG and responsible for the department Development and Markets and Works Director, left the company at his own request on June 30, 2010. Kirch was active in various areas from 2004 and was appointed to the Executive Board in April 2009. “Roland Kirch contributed to making Hapag-Lloyd a future-oriented company. The supervisory board thanks him for his successful work. We regret Mr Kirch’s decision,” commented Dr. Michael Frenzel, supervisory board chairman of Hapag-Lloyd AG. The duties of Mr Kirch will initially be assumed by the other members of the Executive Board.
Hapag-Lloyd Executive Board Appointments
Peter Ganz and Roland Kirch are to be appointed to the Hapag-Lloyd executive board. Peter Ganz is to be appointed by the Hapag-Lloyd supervisory board at its next meeting to the executive board of Hapag-Lloyd AG as chief financial officer. After studying business administration, Ganz began his career in 1994 in the Finance Department of TUI AG. In 2000, he took over the responsibility of TUI’s Group Treasury. In September 2007, he was appointed as Director Corporate Finance. He was significantly involved in the disposal process of Hapag-Lloyd AG to the Hamburg Consortium. Hapag-Lloyd Restructures Executive Board
Ulrich Kranich will be responsible on the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG for the global operations in future. He is taking over this role from Adolf Adrion who is retiring at the end of the year. Michael Behrendt will be responsible for the financial department in addition to serving as Executive Board Chairman (CEO). The Supervisory Board appointed Roland Kirch Chief Representative (Generalbevollmächtigter). In future, Kirch will be head of the financial area, which also includes the information technology area.
