Globus Maritime Q2 & Six Month Results

Globus Maritime Limited (AIM: GLBS) (LSE: GLBS), a company with subsidiaries that own and operate Supramax, Panamax, and Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, reported its unaudited consolidated interim operating and financial results for the three months (Q2-10) and six months (H1-10) period ended June 30, 2010, and declares an interim cash dividend of GB 7.3 pence (US 11.29 cents) per share. All the following figures are in United States Dollars, except for the dividend which is in British Pence. Globus had five vessels at the end of June 2010 versus seven vessels at the end of June 2009. -- Fleet utilization of 98.3% (H1-09: 98.7%). -- Fleet utilization of 100% (Q2-09: 98.9%).

Horizon Lines’ New Class III Director

The Board of Directors of Horizon Lines, Inc. (NYSE:HRZ) appointed Bobby J. Griffin to fill an existing vacancy as a Class III Director of the Company effective June 9, 2010. Griffin served as President, International Operations of Ryder System, Inc., a global provider of transportation, logistics and supply chain management solutions from March 2005 to March 2007. Between 1986 and 2005, Griffin served in various other management positions with Ryder System, including Executive Vice President, Global Supply Chain Operations and President of ATE Management and Services Company, acquired by Ryder in 1986. Griffin serves on the boards of Hanesbrands, Inc. and United Rentals, Inc. He holds a B.A.

Ryder, Cargo Services Partnership

Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R) has signed a joint venture (JV) partnership with Cargo Services Far East Limited (CSFE), an Asia-based logistics solutions provider specializing in export consolidation services. The combined capabilities of the companies will create a comprehensive, end-to-end service offering, with full geographic coverage throughout Asia, for North American retailers and other companies importing from Asia. Operating as Ryder Supply Chain Solutions Asia, the solution will provide Vendor and Purchase Order Management, Inland Transport Services, Export Consolidation and Order Fulfillment Services, including Distribution Center Bypass and Store-Ready Pallet Construction from Asia to North America.

Ryder Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend

The Board of Directors of Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R) declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.25 per share of common stock, to be paid on December 11, 2009, to shareholders of record on November 16, 2009.
