Stowage Deficiencies Caused YM Efficiency Containers Loss -Report

Deficiencies in the cargo stowage arrangement ultimately caused the YM Efficiency to lose 81 containers while sailing in heavy seas off Australia in June 2018, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau's (ATSB) investigation revealed.The Liberian-flagged vessel was en route from Taiwan to Sydney when it suddenly rolled heavily in strong gale force winds and rough seas, causing the ship to lose 81 containers overboard and another 62 containers to be damaged. SKF has gained hazardous area approval for its QuickCollect sensor. The new approval allows the sensor to be used in places that would previously have required a ‘hot work’ permit.The certification opens up applications in a range of sectors, including the petrochemicals, mining and marine industries. Kalmar Signs Pact with Patrick Terminals

Yılport Awaits 2 STS, 6 E-RTG Cranes

Yilport Puerto Bolivar, Ecuador’s first deep-sea terminal, will soon have a new fleet of ship-to-shore (STS) and electrified rubber tired gantry (E-RTG) that set sail from Oita, Japan, on December 30, 2019.Yilport said in a press release that the cranes will arrive on January 27, 2020, and will be part of a fleet comprising 6 STS and 18 ERTG cranes.The cranes forms the first shipment of overall 6 new STS cranes and 18 E-RTG cranes order of the Terminal.
