Holland America Line Donates $25K to Seattle Children’s Hospital

Holland America Group CEO Stein Kruse presented a check for $25,000 to Seattle Children’s Hospital’s Uncompensated Care Fund Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at the Seattle Mariner’s home game at Safeco Field. The company made the donation as part of its partnership with the Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball team and their “K’s for Kids” program that debuted during the 2014 baseball season. With “K’s for Kids,” each strikeout (represented as a “K” on the score card) recorded by a Mariners pitcher at Safeco Field throughout the season earned a cash donation from the cruise line to Seattle Children’s. Holland America Line's ‘K’s For Kids’ Partnership With Seattle Mariners

Holland America Line announced their new “K’s for Kids” donation program with the Seattle Mariners in a pre-game ceremony at Safeco Field on May 29. For every strike out recorded by a Mariners pitcher at Safeco Field through the end of the 2014 season, Holland America Line will make a donation to Seattle Children’s Uncompensated Care Fund, with a total commitment of $25,000. GE US Equipment Financing Appoints New Marine Sales Leader

GE US Equipment Financing has appointed Steve Isaacson as National Sales Leader. Isaacson is a veteran of the commercial marine finance industry, joining GE in 2001 after a 15-year career managing SAFECO Credit’s national marine group in Seattle. Isaacson had served the past two years as the northwest regional sales manager for GE USEF. “Steve’s extensive industry expertise in Marine financing will help us provide our marine industry customers with a more customized set of solutions across the spectrum of financing needs including new and used vessel acquisitions, vessel re-power and upgrade projects, fleet acquisitions, growth capital, working capital, balance sheet management and recapitalizations,” said Juan Corsillo, vice president of marketing and strategic initiatives for GE USEF.

Stennis 'Looks Ahead' to New Home in Washington

USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) departed San Diego Jan. 5th for its new homeport in the Pacific Northwest. The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier is making the trip up the west coast to Bremerton, Wash. Shortly after arriving, the ship is scheduled for routine maintenance and technology upgrades for most of 2005 before its next scheduled deployment. "We will miss San Diego's beautiful weather and wonderful people," said Capt. David H. Buss, Stennis' commanding officer. Nearly 1,400 married Sailors and their families, along with 1,140 single Sailors, will take up residence in Bremerton and the surrounding area. "We look forward to building a strong relationship with the many communities in the Pacific Northwest as we did in San Diego," said Stennis' Executive Officer, Capt. Joseph Kuzmick.
