Eneti to Acquire Seajacks

Offshore wind services company Eneti announced on Thursday it has entered into an agreement to acquire rival Seajacks, creating one of the world's largest, most capable fleets of wind turbine installation vessels (WTIV).Eneti said its deal with sellers Marubeni Corporation, INCJ, Ltd. and Mitsui O.S.K., Lines Ltd. will see it acquire 100% of Atlantis Investorco Limited, the parent of Seajacks International Limited, for consideration of approximately 8.13 million shares, $299 million of assumed net debt, $74 million of newly-issued redeemable notes, and $12 million of cash.

DP World Launches $9 Billion Financing

Scorpio Refinances a Kamsarmax Vessel

New York-listed Scorpio Bulkers has entered into a financing transaction in respect of one of its Kamsarmax vessels with an unaffiliated third party.As part of the transaction, the provider of marine transportation of dry bulk commodities will sell a 2015 Japanese built Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel, SBI Samba, for a consideration of $21.4 million and then lease it back from the buyer through a five-year bareboat charter agreement at a rate of $6,850 per day.The transaction also provides the shipping company with the option to repurchase the vessel beginning on the third anniversary of the sale until the end of the bareboat charter agreement. Maersk's Samba Service Switches Ports

Maersk Line, container shipping line, has switched the UK call of its Samba service from Tilbury to DP World London Gateway Port. The first call on the service will be made by the Maersk Lanco on Monday, March 21. MOL Joins Project to Mark Anniversary of Japan, Brazil Treaty

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. today announced that MOL cooperated in the transport of the “Tachinepta” float (*1) Samba Carnival (*2) Components of the float, weighing about 5 tons in all, were placed into 15 containers and loaded aboard an MOL-operated containership. The vessel departed the Port of Shimizu on November 25, 2014, and arrived at Santos, Brazil on January 7. The Tachinepta was then assembled by craftspeople who traveled to the site from Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. When the magnificent float was completed for the opening of the Carnival on February 13, it measured more than  featured in the  that began in Sao Paulo, Brazil on February 13. The year 2015 marks the 120th anniversary for signing the Treaty of Amity, Commerce and Navigation between Japan and Brazil.

Norwegian Aquaculture Workboat Marks Damen Entry

Damen Shipyards Group said it has received an order for a Multi Cat 2712 from Norwegian owner Samba AS based in Os (Bergen). The vessel will be the first newbuild from Damen’s proven range of workboats to operate in Norway’s large aquaculture and oil spot market industry. Living up to Damen’s reputation for fast delivery from stock, Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld in the Netherlands will deliver the vessel in June after completing a number of client-specified customizations. The contract was signed on May 8 at the yard. The Multi Cat 2712 will be the third in Samba’s fleet of workboats.

$392m Loan Secired for 10 New Chem Tankers

Samba Financial Group reportedly has signed an agreement with National Chemical Carrier (NCC)for a $392 million (SR1,470) million facility to finance 80 percent of the total cost for building 10 new chemical tankers, according to a report on www.menafn.com. It is considered to be the largest single shipping deal in the history of the local market in terms of amount and number of ships funded by a single bank for a single borrower. According to an official from the shipping company, the deal is within the framework of plans to expand the fleet, which is composed now of 14 vessels with a total capacity of 554,000 tons. By 2011 the company plans to have 32 ships with a total capacity of 1.4 million tons.
