Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump told the New York Times he would consider stopping U.S. oil purchases from Saudi Arabia unless the Saudi government provide troops to fight Islamic State. Trump's comment on Friday was included in a lengthy foreign policy interview published by the newspaper on Saturday and came in response to a question about whether, if elected president, he would halt oil purchases from U.S. allies unless they provided on-the-ground forces against Islamic State. "The answer is, probably yes," Trump said, according to a transcript. Trump has said the United States should be reimbursed by the countries it provides protection, even those with vast resources such as Saudi Arabia, a top oil exporter.

Jabbar, meaning “powerful” or “tremendous” in Arabic, was originally built by Main Iron Works of Houma, Louisiana as their Hull 335 for McAllister Towing & Transportation of New York. The twin screw tug was operated by International Tug Service, a joint venture company between McAllister and Arabian American Oil Co. Ltd.

Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) Saudi has been appointed by the new Ras Al Zawr port in Saudi Arabia LPG/C Al Barrah as the first agent to be issued a license of operation to load ammonia. Ras Al Zawr is one of the six new ports planned by the Saudi Government as they realize their goal of economic expansion and diversification. Construction of the integrated chemical and fertilizer facility and related infrastructure for the Phosphate Project has been completed recently for clients and operators Maaden and SABIC. Phosphate concentrate will be transported by rail from the Al Jalamid mine site some 1200km to Ras Al Zawr for processing.

The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA) reported a net profit of 115.7 million riyals ($30.85 million) in the first half of 2001 compared with a net loss of 16.8 million riyals a year earlier. Riyadh-based NSCSA also said in a statement that it would take delivery of four recently bought vessels by October 2002, raising its fleet to nine ships used to transport Saudi Arabian crude to the international market. "NSCSA and Hellespont Shipping Corporation are pleased to announce the purchase by NSCSA from Hellespont for $330 million of four double hull very large crude carriers," the Riyadh-based company said in a statement. Hellespont at Samsung Heavy Industry of South Korea and would be delivered betweenOctober 2001 and October 2002.
