New Portable Magnetic Drill from Hougen

Hougen Manufacturing, Inc has released a new portable magnetic drill, the HMD918. This new model offers an upgrade to the depth of cut in the line of Hougen magnetic drills. The HMD918 has a high torque motor and extended six inch drilling depth to give metal fabricators more options to drill deep holes in steel whether it is a solid piece of material or multiple stacked plates. The HMD918 includes a pressurized coolant bottle and system. The two gallon bottle easily attaches to the drill arbor and provides pressurized coolant to the cutter no matter the position of the drill.

Hougen Manufacturing, Inc. has released a new model of portable magnetic drill, the HMD934, offering increased power and performance for holemaking in serve industrial applications. The HMD934 was developed to give metal fabricators more strength and torque to drill large deep holes in steel, and is able to drill holes up to 4” deep and up to 3-1/16” in diameter. the HMD934 has a number of features and innovations that provide convenience and ease of use for the operator, the manufacturer said.

Hougen Debuts Redesigned Magnetic Drill

Hougen Manufacturing, Inc. has redesigned its HMD904 portable magnetic drill to include new improvements and features. The newest innovation is the mag drill pilot light. The LED light is built into the base of the magnet and allows the operator to more efficiently and quickly line up the pilot with the holes center location in low light or no light conditions. Powering the drill is a proprietary Hougen motor with a new design to the aluminum casing to improve durability. The addition of a two stage magnet increases magnetic holding power by 30 percent when the drill motor is turned on.

SeaCURE BWTS Earns 2nd US Patent

Evoqua Water Technologies has been awarded a second United States patent on its technical solution for treating ballast water. This latest patent was granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on the 3rd of March, 2015. The patent describes a technical solution for treating ballast water under a variety of ambient water qualities. The quality of ambient water can vary widely from port to port where the ship is taking on its ballast. The unique features of Evoqua’s system include the use of oxidation reduction potential (“ORP”) devices to control certain SeaCURE* system operations. Maersk Container Industry Up For Two Innovation Prizes

An advanced insulation foam and ingenious ways to transport fresh food have helped make Maersk Container Industry (MCI) a finalist in two competition categories, CSR and innovation, at this year’s Containerization International Awards. MCI competes for the “Technological Innovation of the Year” prize in recognition of its automatic ventilation, AV+, which saves energy by controlling fresh air ventilation inside refrigerated containers. An affiliated technology, controlled atmosphere (CA), keeps track of how fruits and vegetables ripen and respire inside the container during transport.

Vacon opens subsidiary in Australia

The Finland-based AC drives manufacturer Vacon strengthens its global presence by opening a subsidiary in Australia. The grand opening will take place on March 15 in Melbourne, and the inaugural speech will be given by Mr Glen Lindholm, Finland's Ambassador to Australia. With the head office in Melbourne, and sales offices in Perth and Brisbane, Vacon Pacific will concentrate on serving the growing markets of Australia and the Pacific region. "By opening a subsidiary in Australia to cover the Pacific region, Vacon now has offices in 18 countries outside Finland.
