Corvus Energy Names Bjørkeli CEO

Corvus Energy has appointed Geir Bjørkeli as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Bjørkeli was previously Director of Norway for the Dutch company Huisman, and established the company’s Norwegian presence for offshore construction equipment solutions. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), represented by Chief Executive, Andrew Tan, signed a Joint Statement with the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries on October 10 during the State Visit by President Tony Tan Keng Yam to Norway. The United Seamen's Service (USS) 2016 Admiral of the Ocean Sea Awards (AOTOS) will be presented to Arthur E. Imperatore, Founder and President of New York Waterways; Donald Marcus, President of the International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots; and Christopher Wiernicki, Chairman and CEO of American Bureau of Shipping. The maritime industry's most prestigious awards will be presented at the 47th annual gala industry dinner and dance at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, New York City, on October 28, 2016.

ST Engineeing Appoints Director

Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced the appointment of Mr Lim Ah Doo as an independent non-executive Director of the Company and a Member of the Audit Committee with effect from 10 November 2015. Mr Lim, 66, was formerly the President and subsequently the non-executive Vice Chairman of RGE Pte Ltd (formerly known as RGM International Pte Ltd). His past working experience includes an 18-year banking career in Morgan Grenfell from 1977 to 1995, during which he held several key positions including that of Chairman of Morgan Grenfell (Asia) Limited.  Mr Lim graduated with an honours degree in Engineering from the Queen Mary College, University of London and a Master in Business Administration from the Cranfield School of Management.

Team Tankers International Ltd has appointed Hans Feringa as new President and CEO. Feringa is the former President of Stolt Tankers, a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited. He succeeds Jens Grønning, who has left the Company. Zambelli appointed CCO, Maersk Drilling

Ana Zambelli, currently Managing Director for Subsea Operations at Transocean, will take up the role as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in Maersk Drilling. She will start 1 June 2015 reporting directly to CEO Claus V. Hemmingsen. Ana Zambelli will assume the position as CCO after Martin Fruergaard, who after 25 years in the Maersk Group, six of them as CCO for Maersk Drilling, will leave Maersk Drilling. “Martin has for more than 25 years served the Maersk Group in various positions, the last six years as CCO of Maersk Drilling, where he has been instrumental in our growth and has provided for increased customer relations as a large part of the recipe for our success.

The nomination committee in Statoil has recommended that the company's corporate assembly elects Øystein Løseth as new chair and Roy Franklin as a new member and deputy chair of Statoil's board of directors. Furthermore, the nomination committee recommends a re-election of Bjørn Tore Godal, Jakob Stausholm and Marjan Oudeman as members of the board of directors. Chair of the board Svein Rennemo and board member Jim Mulva have informed the nomination committee that they do not wish to stand for re-election in 2015.

ABS’ Wiernicki Addresses Maine Maritime Academy Graduates

Christopher J. Wiernicki, chairman, president and CEO of ABS, addressed graduating students, their families and faculty members at Maine Maritime Academy's (MMA) Commencement on May 2. "It is an honor to speak with the young people who represent the next generation of maritime leaders," Wiernicki told the 248 students who received academic degrees. MMA president Dr. William J. Brennan said, "ABS has invested so much toward the success of our students. ABS Group of Companies, Inc. announced the appointment of Todd Grove as its new President and CEO. Grove most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for ABS Group's parent company, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). He has served more than 30 years at ABS, in various senior technical and operational management roles across the world. MIT Launches Consortium to Improve Infrastructure Cybersecurity

Mike Detmer has been appointed to the position of chief operating officer at New Nautical Coatings, Inc. Based at the company’s headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., Detmer will report to Erik Norrie, co-founder and chief executive officer at Sea Hawk Paints. His responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day operations as well as executing key strategic growth initiatives. Yara Names Brandtzæg New CEO

The board of directors of Yara International today announced the appointment of Svein Richard Brandtzæg as the company's new President and Chief Executive Officer. He will succeed Jørgen Ole Haslestad by February 2015. Brandtzæg currently serves as President and CEO of Norsk Hydro ASA, a position he has held since 2009. Prior to this, he has held a number of management positions in Norsk Hydro. Born in Norway in 1957, Brandtzæg graduated from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Devin International (Devin), a subsidiary of Greene’s Energy Group, has named J.H. (Trey) Miller III, U.S. sales manager, announced General Manager Joe Miller. Based in Houston, Miller will lead and manage a technical sales team covering seven U.S. domestic areas. Focusing on the main disciplines of Devin International, Miller will mentor the sales team in developing customer solutions for well intervention equipment and services and specialty motion compensation packages. Prior to his promotion, Miller worked as a technical sales specialist for three years.
