Solstad Farstad Bags Contract with Fairfield Industries

Solstad Farstad ASA (SOFF) has entered into a contract with Fairfield Industries Inc. for the CSV “Normand Tonjer”. The contract will commence in 3Q 2018 and has a duration of one year firm plus two yearly options.Fairfield will use the vessel to support their innovative worldwide ocean bottom seismic survey using node-based technology.Solstad Farstad has updated other contracts too. The key contracts in the subsea construction segment include Far Saga contract extension with Petrobras until 2Q’20,  Nor Australis awarded 3 months contract with Magseis for operations in Southeast Asia and  Normand Installer renewal of frame agreement…

Cochin Builds Vard Designed PSVs

The Sea Tantalus is the first of a series of Vard Group (STX) designed platform supply vessels being built at Cochin Shipyard Ltd. in India. The distinctive hull configuration is being built in countries around the world, and the Indian version is the first of four from Cochin. At 82.2 by 17-meters the Sea Tantalus has a 7.6-meter depth at the main deck. Built to Det Norske veritas (DNV) standards, including clean notation, the new vessel employs diesel-electric propulsion. Power is provided by four 1,635 HP (12,00 kW) Cummins KTA50-DM1-powered electrical generators.

Indian Shipyard Delivers PSV Sea Tantalus

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) delivered the high specification Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) to PSV Holding Inc., Liberia. Sea Tantalus is a PSV 05L CD type, designed by Vard Group AS, Norway, and is classed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The vessel has been assigned the "Clean Design" notation by DNV signifying the highest levels of environmental compliance, and is the first ship built by CSL to be filled with a ballast water treatment plant.
