Silja Europe Propulsion Control Makeover Aims to Save 6% on Fuel

Qtagg recently secured an order on a total upgrade of Silja Europa’s propulsion control system, a makeover designed to decrease the ship’s fuel consumption by 6% and CO2 emissions by 2096 tons yearly, according to the manufacturer. The overhaul includes engine speed governors, fuel rack actuators, pitch control and voyage optimization with EcoPilot.At 59,912 gt, Silja Europa is Tallink’s largest cruise vessel. Until the summer of 2022 it operated on the Baltic Sea, between Helsinki (Finland) – Tallinn (Estonia).

Atlantica Shipping Adds Fourth PSV to Fleet

Oslo-based offshore vessel owner Atlantica Shipping has taken delivery of its fourth platform supply vessel.The company said in a social media post that it had expanded its fleet with the 2005 built UT 755L Atlantica Server.The vessel, previously known as Energy Scout (according to the VesselsValue database), will be under technical management by Vestland Offshore.According to the vessel's AIS, the 71.9-meter-long platform supplier with a 693-square-meter deck is currently in Aberdeen.The Dina Scout, the Atlantica Provider, and the Atlantica Supplier are the other three offshore supply ships in Atlantica Shipping's fleet.2023 Outlook: The Offshore Service Vessel Market

ConocoPhillips Extends Solstad PSV Trio

Three Solstad Offshore platform supply vessels (PSV) have secured new contracts with energy company ConocoPhillips Skandinavia, the Norwegian offshore vessels owner announced on Thursday.Normand Server, Normand Supporter and Normand Fortune, each on charter with ConocoPhillips Scandinavia since 2018, have been extended to continue support activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.The new contracts will start in direct continuation of current firm periods, and keep the vessels fully utilized to Q1/Q2 2027.The three vessels were built from 2011 through 2013 at Norwegian yards (Normand Fortune at Kleven and Normand Supporter and Normand Server at Vard Langsten) and range from 85.6 to 94.2 meters in length. Each is fitted with battery-hybrid systems in addition to shore power.

Solstad Offshore has secured a contract extension with ConocoPhillips for its platform supply vessel Normand Supporter.The one-year extension means the vessel now has a firm contract with ConocoPhillips in Norway until February 2023. Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore has secured a contract extension for one of its platform supply vessels.In a brief statement on Wednesday, Solstad said that the one-year charter extension had been awarded to its 94,2-meter-long PSV Normand Server.The contract is now firm to January 2023, with two one-year extension options after that.
