Crowley to Launch LNG Bunkering at Panama Canal's Pacific Side

Shipping and energy logistics company Crowley said Tuesday it is proceeding with plans to provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering services on the Pacific side of the Panama Canal, under the first permit issued by the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) for the provision of such services.Crowley’s advanced energy group will operate the service to manage the ship-to-ship LNG transfer services. Color Line Extends Maintenance Deal with MacGregor

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, said it has signed a five-year service agreement with Color Line. This agreement is an extension to previous contracts between MacGregor and Color Line and now includes all vessels in their fleet together with their Norwegian and Danish terminals.The order was booked into Cargotec’s 2022 second quarter orders received. The contract is effective from now until 2027.In the scope of supply there are two annual inspections (the pre-dock and “preseason”) of the RoRo equipment and steering gears on seven vessels and five linkspans for a period of five years.

Högberg Named President of Volvo Penta North America

Volvo Penta has named Fredrik Högberg president of Volvo Penta North America, replacing Tony Kelleher who has served as acting president since December 2021.A new member of Volvo Penta's executive management group, Högberg will take up the position on May 15. Kelleher will continue his position as head of customer support and training in North America.Högberg joined the Volvo Group in 1994 and has held a broad range of leading positions within the group, including areas such as digital services, retail development, and aftermarket sales.

Horisont Energi Picks Port of Rotterdam as European Distribution Hub for its Blue Ammonia

Horisont Energi, a company working to develop its blue ammonia project in Norway, has signed a deal with liquid bulk storage company Koole Terminals to develop an ammonia terminal and storage facility at the Port of Rotterdam, for further distribution.Horisont Energi is developing the Barents Blue project in Norway's north, Europe's first large-scale carbon-neutral ammonia plant with offshore carbon storage. Gas for the project will come from Equinor's and Var Energi's offshore fields in the Barents Sea.

Flowserve Inks Deal for Prelude FLNG

Flowserve Corporation (FLS), a provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, has entered into a five-year contract with Shell Australia to provide general maintenance services for Shell’s Prelude Floating Liquified Natural Gas (FLNG) facility, which is producing natural gas from an offshore field in Western Australia.A press release from the American multinational corporation said that it will support Prelude from its recently refurbished Quick Response Center (QRC) in Darwin, the capital of Australia’s Northern Territory.Flowserve QRCs are dedicated maintenance, repair and manufacturing workshop facilities that provide customers with responsive, local support.

APM Terminals, Volvo Ink Chennai Warehouse Deal

APM Terminals Inland Services, South Asia has signed an exclusive agreement with Gothenburg, Sweden-based Volvo Cars to provide a dedicated, specialized warehouse facility in Chennai. The customized warehouse will provide an integrated Inland Services solution for the Volvo Completely Built Up Units (CBUs) imported from Europe to India through the Port of Chennai. The 102,000 square foot facility will include bonded and non-bonded areas with an overall capacity of 500 vehicles. Digital Marine Acquires Jeppesen's Marine Division

Digital Marine Solutions announced today it has signed a purchase agreement to acquire the marine division of Jeppesen, subject to regulatory approval. Under the terms of the agreement, the former Jeppesen Marine will operate as a separate entity with its own dedicated resources and will trade under the C-MAP brand name. Jeppesen will remain as part of The Boeing Company. Digital Marine Solutions is owned by the Altor 2003 Fund, which is part of the Nordic based Altor family of private equity funds. This strategic acquisition leverages Altor’s experience in the Marine industry, where it also is the majority owner of the Navico house of marine brands.

Ericsson, Inmarsat to Streamline Supply Chain

Inmarsat and Ericsson have signed a strategic maritime agreement that is intended to facilitate the sharing of cargo, logistics and vessel operational data to help streamline the maritime supply chain. The two companies will jointly develop services, solutions and applications to drive industry standards for satellite connectivity and application integration in the maritime industry. As a first step, Ericsson has signed a distribution contract to offer XpressLink, Inmarsat’s combined L-band and Ku-band VSAT network for the maritime market. XpressLink offers an easy upgrade path to Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress service, powered by the new Global Xpress constellation, when it becomes available in the coming months.
