Shell Norway Award Subsea Service Contract to ABB
ABB signs a $260 million service contract with A/S Norske Shell for operations at the Draugen and Ormen Lange oil & gas fields. The contract is for a period of 9 years and requires ABB to provide integrated service and support solutions for the Draugen offshore oil platform and the nearby Ormen Lange onshore gas processing plant on the west coast of Norway. The agreement includes the option of two consecutive two year contracts and covers both the oil and gas fields, as well as future expansions, tie-ins and upgrades. ABB has delivered significant annual savings over five successive years since it was awarded the first service contract by A/S Norske Shell in 2007. The contract scope includes the system’s integration across the electric, instrument, control and telecommunication systems.
Subsea Umbilical Frame Agreement
Aker Solutions has signed a frame agreement with Shell Norway and Shell U.K. Limited for the supply of subsea umbilicals. The contract is awarded for one year with an option to extend it an additional 12 months. The award means that Aker Solutions will be the preferred supplier of steel tube umbilicals for projects in the North Sea that are managed by Shell's Norwegian and UK operations. Farstad Shipping Awarded Charter Contracts
Farstad Supply AS has been awarded charter contracts for Far Strider and Far Superior for one year with two one-year options for each of the vessels. The contracts are for Team Marine in Aberdeen for whom the vessels have operated for five and two years respectively. The existing contracts end in December (Far Superior) and January (Far Strider). The new contracts will start in January 2004. Both vessels are platform supply vessels and Far Strider was built in 1999, and Far Superior in 1990. In addition Farstad Shipping ASA has also reached an agreement to extend the contract for Far Fosna for three years from October 2005 till October 2008.
