The International Collaborative Development for Enhanced Maritime Domain Awareness (ICODE MDA) was one of 14 projects selected by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics to receive $1 million awards beginning this fall through the Coalition Warfare Program, which funds international collaborative research efforts. The ICODE MDA project is a research alliance between ONR and Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific).

CSA Contracted for Electronic, Communications Services, to US Military

Client Solution Architects LLC (CSA) announce the award of an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, to provide electronic and communication services and solutions in support of mission capabilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, Army, and other entities, activities and agencies as assigned or designated by the SPAWAR Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic. The scope of the overall PILLARS initiative covers the entire spectrum of non-inherently governmental services and solutions (equipment and services) associated with the full system lifecycle support including research, development, test, evaluation, production and fielding of systems.

W R Systems Ltd. of Norfolk, VA, along with URS Federal Services Inc. and other team members has been awarded the Submarine C5I & NC3 Engineering, Technical, and Logistic Support follow-on contract from SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic. This contract is valued at $27,746,842 for the base year, plus one option year. Work under this contract includes engineering, technical, analysis and assessment, logistical, life cycle, and program management support for VIRGINIA Class (SSN 774) Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems and Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) C5I systems and subsystems installed in SSN 21, SSN 688/I, SSBN 726, SSN 774, and SSGN Class Submarines and SUBOPAUTH shore facilities.

WRSystems Wins Navy Contract up to $140M

W R Systems, Ltd. (WRSystems) has been awarded a $26,946,956 contract from the U.S. Navy to provide engineering technical support services for navigation systems in the U.S. and abroad. Seventy-five percent of the contract work will be performed in Hampton Roads, Va. through WRSystems’ Engineering Services Division in Norfolk, Va. The value of the contract could reach an estimated $140,601,392 if all options are exercised. The company is based in Fairfax, Va. WRSystems expects to hire additional staff to help service the new contract. The contract combines purchases for the Navy (97%), and the governments of Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Egypt under the Foreign Military Sales Program.

CMA CGM: Significant Recovery in Operations

Operating profit for the CMA CGM Group is expected to return to the breakeven point in December 2009, ahead of the company’s cautious forecasts in September 2009. The savings plan applied throughout all segments of the group, combined with increasingly firm volumes and rates, is already producing its initial effects. The recovery of operating profit illustrates the shipping expertise of the CMA CGM teams, which have been entirely focused on achieving this objective. -     Optimized capacity in line with transport demand on all the Group’s lines. Furthermore, by soon extending “super eco speed” to all ships on ocean-going lines, the group will further reduce fuel consumption by the end of the year, thus saving tens of millions of dollars.

Titan Wins Navy Contract

Titan Corp., Mt. Laurel, N.J., is being awarded a $28,114,055 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee, performance-based contract to provide integrated systems engineering support services to Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston. The contractor shall provide services in systems engineering, program management support, integrated logistics, configuration data management, and security support for various departments of the Navy C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) systems and other command control networks. This contract includes four one-year options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to $149,208,202. The work will be performed in Charleston, S.C.
