Time Charter of DP-1 Research Vessel Fixed

Marcon International, Inc. of Coupeville, Washington reported that Stabbert Maritime of Seattle has time chartered the U.S. flag, DP-1, research vessel Ocean Pioneer (ex: Seabulk Montana, Montana, Seabulk Montana, Indian Seal) to FMC Technology of Davis, California. The 205' x 40' x 17' depth vessel was built in 1974 by Burton Shipyard in Port Arthur, Texas for Seal Fleet of Galveston, Texas and acquired by Hvide Marine, Inc. in 1996, along with seven other offshore supply boats. Hvide reorganized in 2001 and was renamed Seabulk International.

Helix to Sell Three Pipelay Vessels

Helix Energy Solutions Group to sell pipelay vessels, 'Caesar, Express', 'Intrepid' & related equipment in separate transactions for a total $252,750,000. On October 15, 2012, Helix entered into an agreement to sell the Caesar, Express and related equipment to Coastal Trade Limited for a total of $238,250,000. The sale of these assets is expected to close in two stages as each vessel completes its existing contractual backlog. The Express closing is expected to occur in February 2013 and the Caesar closing is expected to occur in July 2013.

Ocean Services Completes DP2 Conversion

Ocean Services, a member of the Stabbert Maritime Group of Companies has recently completed the 278.8 ft by 59 ft DPII deep-sea construction vessel, Ocean Carrier. Built as a multi functional platform, the Ocean Carrier is a valuable asset to the offshore construction industry and went directly on contract upon completion of the refit. The shipyard division of Stabbert Maritime, Stabbert Yacht & Ship, was contracted to assist in the refit and DP upgrades with Ocean Services managing the project oversight.

Ocean Services Expands Offshore Fleet

Ocean Services, a member of the Stabbert Maritime Group of Companies, has acquired the Ocean Carrier, an 279 ft X 59 ft deep-water construction vessel in order to expand their commercial fleet. This new asset marks Stabbert Maritime’s strategic move toward deep-water construction including ROV support, saturation dive support, and core drilling operations. The Ocean Carrier is currently under complete rebuild at Stabbert Maritime’s satellite yard in Houston, Texas. Ocean Services Wins DART Contract

Ocean Services, a member of the Stabbert Maritime Group of Companies has been awarded a contract by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for the repair and maintenance of buoys in the Deep-ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunamis program (DART). Upon contract award Stabbert Maritime had 30 days to upgrade one of their vessels’, the 205 ft Ocean Pioneer, with Dynamic Positioning (DP) capabilities. Also included in the refit was a new interior package and galley to modernize the vessel for her 22,000 mile worldwide voyage.

Stabbert Yacht & Ship Shipyard

CEO Dan Stabbert and Paul Madden, Head of Sales, announced the sale of the 308 ft ex-NOAA Research Ship Sahara to a European buyer. This vessel is currently undergoing a complete re-fit and conversion at Stabbert Yacht and Ship (SYS) in Seattle. The vessel will be exported from the US and may benefit from a new export financing program that SYS is offering to international buyers. Under this program, Stabbert is able to offer competitive financing for buyers by guaranteeing term financing to creditworthy international buyers for purchases of U.S. vessels and refit/conversion services.
