Damen Ships Multiple Vessels to Canada in Single Shipment
Five Damen vessels have made their way across the Atlantic Ocean on a unique voyage to Canada. Early this year, Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract with Ontario-based Doornekamp Construction for the delivery of a Shoalbuster 3209. The vessel was formerly part of Damen Marine Servicesâ charter fleet. Damen Delivers Two New Vessels to RAK Ports

Damen Signs Deal with PAJAM
Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract with the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJAM) for the delivery of a Utility Vessel 3911. The vessel will be used by Damenâs client for buoy-laying and maintenance support operations in the ports of the island nation.Damen has a long relationship with PAJAM, stretching back to the 1990s, when the port authority placed orders with Damen for two Stan Tugs 2909. This was followed, more recently, by orders for two Pilot Vessels 1605.The UV 3911 is a 39.4 x 10.8 meter vessel built to facilitate a crew of twelve.
Damen Sells Two ASD Tugs to Ecuador

24 Damen Stock Vessels to Arrive in Port of Rotterdam
The MV Tasmanic Winter has nearly finished its voyage from China to Rotterdam with 24 new vessels on board built at Damen yards in Changde and Yichang.In line with its standard practice, Damen is transporting these in batches to the Netherlands where most of them will be ready for sale to customers seeking the shortest possible delivery times, including customization when required.In a first for Damen, the Tasmanic Winter took the Northern Sea route along Russiaâs north coast, which can reduce the journey time by up to eight days compared with the traditional southern route.
Damenâs 3rd Annual Workboat Festival
Last Thursday, Damen Shipyards Gorinchem hosted the Damen groupâs third annual Workboat Festival. The event brought together more than 200 customers, media and industry partners, and 34 workboats, for an afternoon of presentations, demonstrations, product displays and interactive exhibits.The workboats ranged in size from ten-meter Stan Launches and Stan Tugs up to a 72-meter Stan Pontoon. In between were Fast Crew Suppliers, Stan Pilots, Stan Patrols, additional Stan Launches and Tugs, plus an Interceptor and a RHIB.
Damen ASD 2913 Tug Launched in Saqr Port UAE
The new ASD Tug 2913 for Saqr Port, part of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Ports, has been launched at the Albwardy Damen shipyard in Sharjah, UAE. Ordered twelve months ago, the tug will join the RAK Ports tug fleet and operate in the new and impressive deep-water bulk terminal currently nearing completion at the port. There its 80-tonnes of bollard pull will provide additional power for manoeuvring Capesize vessels. The tug was launched in the presence of Capt. Cliff Brand, the Chief Executive Officer of RAK Ports, and Capt. Michael Magee, the Harbour Master of RAK Ports. Workboats: Three Damen Stan Tugs for Corpetrolsa Group
Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract with Corpetrolsa Group of Guayaquil, Ecuador, for the supply of three tugs; one Stan Tug 1205 and two Stan Tugs 1606. The tugs will be operated by Corpetrolsa subsidiary DLEN S.A. to support its bunkering operation. Corpetrolsa Group operates its own fleet of tankers in the 2,000 to 7,000 DWT range and the three new tugs will be used to assist them in the Ecuadorean ports of Esmeraldas and La Libertad. The vessels were already in stock at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem and will be supplied in their standard format without modifications.

Notwithstanding the lingering offshore energy downturn, there were plenty of bright spots for North American shipyards in 2017. If a hull was delivered in 2017, we took a look at it, with several areas as a focus for inclusion into this edition. For starters, it is always exciting when a domestic yard delivers a vessel â or multiple vessels, for that matter â to foreign buyers. We can compete in a foreign arena; on price, quality and on-time delivery. This year was no different. No less important is the environmental footprint of a vessel, and there was plenty to report on from that angle in the past 12 months. The domestic waterfront is indeed getting greener and cleaner.
Damen Stock Tugs Shipped to Rotterdam
Shipbuilder Damen said its latest transport of newbuild vessels has arrived in the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. The multiple vessel shipment carried on board the SAL Heavy Lift vessel MV Lone comprises various Damen Tugs and one Multi Cat that have been constructed at Damenâs yards in Vietnam. Consisting of two Stan Tugs 2608, three ASD Tugs 2411, four ASD Tugs 2810, two ASD Tugs 3212 and a Multi Cat 1908, the shipment is a strategic positioning of built-for-stock vessels in Europe, the shipbuilder said.
Saqr Port Orders Damen ASD Tug
Saqr Port, part of Rash Al Khaimah (RAK) Ports, has signed a contract with the Damen Shipyards Group for the delivery of an ASD 2913 tug. The vessel will be built a short distance away at Albwardy Damen in Sharjah and will be delivered in time for the opening of the new bulk terminal at Saqr Port in mid-2018. Saqr Port is a major bulk-handing port in the Middle East and a vital part of the regional economy. Located at the foot of the Hajar Mountains, it serves the fast-growing quarry industry in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Damen Workboats for Fratelli Neri Fleet Expansion
Italian towing company Fratelli Neri S.p.A. has expanded its fleet with the delivery of three new Damen workboats. The trio of vessels will be based in the companyâs home port of Livorno, on the Tuscan coast. Damen delivered all the vessels from stock;completing the final outfitting works within a timescale of three and a half months. This current delivery to Fratelli Neri consists of three different vessels. The first, an ASD 2913, was built at Damen Shipyards Galati. This vessel sailed from Romania to Italy on her own keel. The other two vessels â a Stan Launch 1305 and a Stan Tug 1606 â were being held on stock at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in the Netherlands. Damen transported these two workboats to Livorno on a heavy-lift vessel.
Damen Hosts 'Workboat Festival' for Clients and Partners
Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, which is also the headquarters of the Damen Shipyards Group, opened its doors to customers and industry partners alike for the first Damen Workboat Festival. Great Lakes Shipyard Lays Keel for 10 Damen Tugs
A keel-laying ceremony was held on August 10 at Great Lakes Shipyard in Cleveland, Ohio for 10 Damen Stan Tugs 1907 ICE. The new Ice Class vessels will be the first tugs to be designed and built to comply with the new Subchapter M Coast Guard regulations, and will be operated by the shipyardâs affiliate company, The Great Lakes Towing Company, replacing existing tonnage. Damenâs Houston-based manager for North America, Jan van Hogerwou, confirmed that under the license, Great Lakes Shipyard will receive full construction, design and engineering support from Damen.

Damen Shipbuilding Group has established a permanent presence in Houston, with the August 1 opening of a new office headed by senior managers Jan van Hogerwou (New Construction) and Ruud Haneveer (Ship Repair & Conversion). Fratelli Neri S.p.A. Orders Three Damen Vessels
Fratelli Neri S.p.A., the family-owned, Livorno-based harbor towage company, has ordered three new Damen vessels; an ASD Tug 2913, a Stan Tug 1606 and a Stan Launch 1305, the last for its subsidiary company Labromare, which is 50% owned by Tripmare S.p.A. All three vessels will operate in and around the port of Livorno, one of the busiest in the Mediterranean Sea. Delivery will take place in November this year. This order takes to six the number of Damen vessels ordered by Fratelli Neri in the past year.

The Great Lakes Towing Company announces the addition of Nikita Skeeter, a maritime professional with over 25 years of experience in shipbuilding and production management, as General Manager of Great Lakes Shipyard. First Damen tugs to be built under license in the U.S. An agreement was signed between Damen Shipyards Group and Great Lakes Shipyard for the latter to build two Stan Tugs 1907 ICE at its facility in Cleveland, marking the first instance in which Damen tugs will be built under license in the United States, according to the Ohio shipbuilder. The ICE Class vessels will be operated by the yardâs affiliate company, The Great Lakes Towing Company, and will replace existing tonnage.
