SMST to Provide 'World's Largest' 3D Motion Compensated Cranes for Windcat Offshore's CSOVs

Dutch offshore equipment supplier SMST has been awarded a contract by Damen Shipyards to deliver two sets of mission equipment for the two newbuild Elevation Series CSOVs for Windcat Offshore. SMST will deliver a gangway combined with access & cargo tower and "world’s largest" 3D Motion compensated crane.The Elevation Series CSOVs have been designed by Damen Shipyards in cooperation with Windcat and CMB.TECH.

Windcat Orders Two Hydrogen-powered CSOVs from Damen Shipyards

Offshore crew transfer company Windcat said Tuesday it had ordered two hydrogen-powered Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (“CSOVs”) from the Dutch company Damen Shipyards, with options for further vessels.The “Elevation Series” CSOVs have been designed by Damen Shipyards in cooperation with Windcat and CMB.TECH. The hydrogen-powered vessels will be 87 m long, 20 m wide, can accommodate 120 people on board. The first delivery is expected in 2025. A second service operations vessel for Bibby Marine Services has been launched and christened during a ceremony at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania, the shipbuilder announced Friday.The new vessel, Bibby WaveMaster Horizon, will begin maintenance work on two EnBW and Enbridge-owned wind farms in the German North Sea – Hohe See and Albatros – for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and EnBW, upon delivery later this year.Damen said it developed the SOV 9020 vessel design through close consultation with the offshore renewables industry.

Keel Laid for Second Bibby Wavemaster

Construction on Bibby Marine Services’ second service operations vessel (SOV) is underway at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania less than a year after Bibby took delivery of sister ship Bibby Wavemaster 1.Bibby ordered the new SOV in early 2018 after lining up a charter for the vessel in December 2017. OMM: New Maintenance Service to Renewables Sector

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has launched a new maintenance support service for offshore renewables operators. Bolton Joins OMM as Director Ops & Maintenance

Subsea cable specialist, Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has strengthened its position in operation and maintenance with the recruitment of industry specialist, Stephen Bolton to the newly created position of Director of Operations and Maintenance. Stephen has more than 10 years experience in the emerging renewable energy market, in both the onshore and offshore wind sectors. His background includes his recent work as Offshore Operations Implementation Manager at RWE Innogy where he established one of the industry’s first dedicated teams to focus on the operations and maintenance methodology for large far shore wind farms on a portfolio basis. On establishing the strategy, he was responsible for its implementation on the Gwynt y Mor and Nord See Ost projects, among others.
