STX Norway Offshore to Build AHTS in Brazil

STX Norway Offshore has through its subsidiary STX Brazil Offshore entered into a new contract for the building of one Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel for Norskan Offshore in Brazil. The vessel is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2013. This vessel is the third in a series of new AH 11 designs from STX Norway Offshore Design. We currently have a total of seven vessels under construction for DOF in Brazil. Norskan Offshore is a subsidiary of DOF ASA. The vessel is designed by STX Norway Offshore Design in Ålesund, Norway, and will be built at STX Brazil Offshore in Niteroi, Brazil.

STX Norway Offshore to Build LNG Powered PSV

STX Norway Offshore has entered into a new contract with Olympic Shipping to build an LNG powered Platform Supply Vessel. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in Q1 2012. The new vessel is designed by STX Norway Offshore Design in Ålesund. The hull is to be built at Tulcea, Romania, and the vessel will be outfitted at Aukra. The vessel will be built according to the latest SPS regulations, which will give excellent stability under all weather conditions and the highest levels of security for the crew.

STX Norway Offshore to Build Icebreaker Tugs

STX Norway Offshore has signed contracts for the building of two icebreaker tugs to JSC Circle Marine Invest. The vessels will be delivered in 2011, and the total value of the two contracts amounts to approximately $71.4m. JSC Circle Marine Invest will through its subsidiary Caspian Offshore Construction in Kazakhstan operate the vessels in the Kashagan field of the northern Caspian Sea. The vessels are designed by the STX Europe subsidiary Aker Arctic, and have a length of 213.2 ft and a beam of 53.8 ft. The vessels will have the Ice class notification 1A* Super, according to the Finnish-Swedish Ice classification rules. Further, the vessels will be equipped and designed for other operations like firefighting, rescue operations and towing in shallow waters.

STX Norway Offshore to Build AHT Supply Vessels

STX Norway Offshore has through its subsidiary STX Brazil Offshore entered into two new contracts for Norskan Offshore for the building of two Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) of AH 11 design. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2012 and 2013. These vessels are the first of the new AH 11 design from STX Norway Offshore Design in Ålesund, designed with special focus on deep water operations. Roy Reite, President in STX Norway Offshore, said: "Since we established our operation in Brazil, we have built and signed contracts for more than forty vessels dedicated for the Brazilian market.

Eight Contracts for New STX Shipyard in Brazil

On July 9, 2010 Estaleiro Promar S.A. signed eight contracts to build LPG Carriers for Transpetro, the shipping arm of the Brazilian oil giant Petrobras. The contracts amounts $536m, comprising the construction of two different types of LPG Carriers: fully pressurized with cargo capacity of 7.000 m3 (4 units) and 4.000 m3 (2 units) and semi-refrigerated with cargo capacity of 12.000 m3 (2 units). These vessels are part of the PROMEF 2, the second phase of the ambitious Transpetro's Fleet Modernization and Expansion Program and are scheduled to be delivered within Q3 2013 to Q4 2015. STX Norway Offshore is developing the new shipyard in Brazil together with its Brazilian long-time partner PJMR Empreendimentos Ltda. STX Norway Offshore AS own 50.5% of Estaileiro Promar S.A.

STX Europe to Build Special Purpose Vessels

STX Europe has, through its wholly owned subsidiary STX Norway Offshore AS, signed contracts for building of three special purpose vessels for a new foreign client. The vessels will be delivered in Q4 2011, Q2 2012 and Q3 2012. The vessels are designed to satisfy the general requirements of salvage, rescue and towing operations including fire fighting and pollution prevention. The vessels will have a length of 282 ft a beam of 57.4 ft. The hull will be built at STX Europe in Romania, and outfitted at STX Europe's yard in Brattvaag, Norway.

STX Europe New Shipyard in Brazil

STX Europe will expand its shipbuilding capacity for Offshore & Specialized vessels by setting up a new shipyard. The yard will be located in Fortaleza, in the Ceará state of Brazil. STX Europe has since the acquisition of the Niteroi shipyard in 2001 successfully delivered more than twenty vessels in the range from platform supply vessels to anchor handling tug supply vessels, ROV and pipelaying construction vessels. The yard has in the last few months received orders for three new advanced PSV offshore vessels, and has now eight vessels in the backlog for delivery up to 2013.

2010 Orders for OptiMarin AS

Since the beginning of 2010, OptiMarin AS has received eight orders for the type approved ballast water treatment system OptiMarin Ballast System (OBS). The orders are placed by yards on behalf of major ship owners. •    Four Platform Supply Vessels that K Line Offshore AS are building at STX Norway Offshore AS Brevik. The vessels are of the STX PSV 06 CD design and the technical management of the vessels is entrusted to OSM Shipmanagement AS. •    Two Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels that Siem Offshore are building at Kleven Maritime. The vessels are of the VS 491 CD design. •    Two Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels that K Line Offshore AS are building at STX Norway Offshore AS Langsten.

STX Europe Contracts with Siem Offshore

STX Europe has been awarded contracts with Siem Offshore for design and building of two Platform Supply Vessels. The vessels are designed by STX Europe in Ålesund and will be built at STX Europe in Brazil. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in Q2 2012 and Q2 2013. STX Europe has been awarded a contract with Deep Sea Supply for design and building of a Platform Supply Vessel. The new PSV 09 CD design, optimized for eco-drive in all weather conditions, is designed by STX Europe in Ålesund, Norway. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in Q1 2012, and will be built at STX Europe in Brazil.
