Weatherford Rolls Out ForeSite Optimization Platform

Irish-domiciled multinational oilfield services company Weatherford said it has made a major enhancement to its ForeSite production optimization platform, which combines physics-based models with advanced data analytics to improve performance across wells, reservoirs, and surface facilities on a single, secure platform.Weatherford, which first introduced the ForeSite platform in May 2017, said the new release expands predictive failure analytics to electric submersible pumping systems (ESPs) and adds complete optimization capabilities for plunger-lifted wells.The platform expands capabilities in reciprocating rod lift by adding predictive failure analytics for ESP systems.

Schlumberger, Cameron Merger Complete

Schlumberger Limited (NYSE:SLB) announced today that it has closed its merger with Cameron International Corporation. As previously announced, each Cameron stockholder is entitled to receive 0.716 shares of Schlumberger common stock and $14.44 in cash, in exchange for each Cameron share. Schlumberger has issued approximately 138 million shares pursuant to the merger. As a result, former Cameron stockholders own approximately 10% of Schlumberger’s outstanding shares of common stock. The transaction combines two complementary technology portfolios into a pore-to-pipeline products and services offering to the global oil and gas industry.

Hurricane Energy Buoyed by Post-well Analysis Results

Hurricane Energy plc, the UK-based oil and gas company, announced having substantially completed post-well data analysis following the successful testing of the 1km horizontal appraisal well 205/21a-6 in Q2 2014 at the Company's Lancaster oil discovery West of Shetland. The well was optimally located to benefit from a highly connected fault/fracture network and an underlying 300m oil column (Hurricane's - 2C estimate of field ODT). The results from third party analysis combine to demonstrate a very good quality reservoir which could deliver single well rates of 20,000 STB/d - significantly ahead of initial expectations of well productivity.

Aker's MPO Unit Wins Industry Award at OTC

Aker Solutions' subsidiary, Managed Pressure Operations, won a prize for its riser safety system at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston. The Aker Solutions unit won the Woelfel Best Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award for its Riser Safety System (RSS). The award recognizes products, devices or systems that reflect innovation or practical use of mechanical engineering in solving problems, improving design or maximizing performance, according to the ASME International Petroleum Technology Institute that hands out the award.

Dril-Quip Q4 & Year End Results

Dril-Quip, Inc. (NYSE:DRQ) announced net income of $28.7 million, or $0.72 per diluted share for the three months ended December 31, 2009, versus net income of $25.0 million, or $0.64 per diluted share for the fourth quarter of 2008. Total revenues increased to $141.3 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2009 from $135.5 million for the same period in 2008. The increase in revenues resulted from increases of $15.6 million in subsea equipment revenues and $0.7 million in service revenues, offset by decreases of $8.2 million in revenues related to offshore rig equipment and $2.3 million in surface equipment revenues. Operating income was $36.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2009 compared to $33.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2008.
