GOGL Acquires New Vessel
Norway based dry bulk shipping company Golden Ocean Group Limited (GOGL) has taken delivery of the second vessel, Sea Monterrey (to be renamed Golden Monterrey). On October 16, 2017 GOGL announced that it has entered into agreements to acquire two modern Capesize vessels from affiliates of Hemen Holding Limited, a company indirectly controlled by trusts established by John Fredriksen for the benefit of his immediate family (Hemen), the Company's largest shareholder, at a purchase price of USD 43.0 million per vessel. The first vessel, Golden Behike, was delivered in November 2017.
Navios Maritime Containers Acquires Boxship
Navios Maritime Containers, a growth vehicle dedicated to the container sector, announced that it has acquired the Navios Felicitas, a 2010-built, 4,360 TEU containership for a purchase price of USD 11.45 million. The vessel was delivered to Navios Containers’ fleet in December 2017. Navios Containers financed the acquisition of the vessel with cash on its balance sheet and $6.0 million of bank debt under one of its existing credit facilities. Following this acquisition, Navios Containers controls 21 vessels, totaling 88,820 TEU.
DryShips Adds Fourth VLGC
DryShips, a diversified owner of ocean going cargo vessels, announced today that it has taken delivery of its fourth high specification very large gas carrier (VLGC) newbuilding. The VLGC will be employed under a fixed rate time charter with ten years firm duration to an oil major trading company. The Company expects a total gross backlog associated with this time charter of up to $103.8 million. DryShips has now taken delivery of all of the 17 vessels it has acquired since the beginning of 2017.
Damen Delivers Patrol Vessel to Nigeria
Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Ltd (Homeland) of Lagos, Nigeria, has taken delivery of another Damen 3307 Patrol Vessel for operations in the offshore oil fields in the Gulf of Guinea. This takes the total delivered vessels/Guardians since the first arrived in early 2014 to four. Guardian 4 has joined its three sister ships in providing security services to the oil majors active in Nigeria’s territorial waters, together with additional support services including crew transfers and equipment deliveries.
New Patrol Boat Delivered to Puerto Rico PD
The Puerto Rico Police Department (PRPD) has taken delivery of a new patrol boat from Louisiana-based boatbuilder Metal Shark. The new 35-foot Defiant welded aluminum pilothouse patrol vessel, built at Metal Shark’s Jeanerette, La. production facility, joins the fleet of 36-foot Metal Shark Fearless-class high performance center console patrol boats delivered to the PRPD a year ago. The PRPD’s new patrol boat features a fully-enclosed, climate-controlled pilothouse for all weather operation, outfitted with Shockwave shock-mitigating seating for a crew of four, the builder said.
Quintana Maritime Takes Delivery of Bulk Carrier
Quintana Maritime Limited has taken delivery of a Panamax bulk carrier, Grain Express, from Metrobulk. Grain Express has a carrying capacity of 76,466 deadweight tons and was built in April 2004 at Tsuneishi, a Japanese shipyard. Inclusive of Grain Express, Quintana Maritime has to date taken delivery of ten vessels out of the total of seventeen vessels it has agreed to acquire from Metrobulk.
Eagle Bulk Shipping Adds New Ultramax
U.S. based owner of Handymax dry bulk vessels Eagle Bulk Shipping has announced that it has taken delivery of its newly acquired vessel, the M/V New London Eagle, a 2015-built CROWN-63 Ultramax. The acquisition has been funded by cash on-hand and new debt of USD 8.6 million. This loan, which equates to approximately 40% of the purchase price, represents an upsize to the existing Eagle Bulk Ultraco LLC Debt Facility which carries an interest rate of LIBOR plus 2.95% and has a maturity of October 31, 2022.
New Pilot Boat Delivered to Alabama Pilots
The Alabama Pilot, Inc. in Mobile, Ala., has taken delivery of Dixey, a newly built Chesapeake Class pilot boat from Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation. With length overall of 53.6’, beam of 17.8’, and draft of 4.8’, the all-aluminum pilot boat features the C. Raymond Hunt-designed Deep-V hull. It is powered by twin Caterpillar C-18 diesel engines, each delivering 671Bhp at 2100 rpm and a top speed of 27 knots. A Humphree interceptor trim-tab control system was installed at the transom.
Dorian LPG Acquires VLGC
Dorian LPG Ltd. a leading owner and operator of modern Very Large Gas Carriers ("VLGCs"), reported today that it has taken delivery of the ECO VLGC Clermont from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries. This will be Dorian LPG's twelfth newbuilding delivery. The Clermont will trade in the Helios LPG Pool. On September 30th the company had taken delivery of the ECO VLGC Constellation from Hyundai Heavy Industries.

Navig8 Product Tankers Inc today took delivery of one LR2 115k-dwt product tanker m.t. "NAVIG8 STABILITY" from Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co, Ltd. The Company has also today taken delivery of one LR1 74k-dwt product tanker m.t. "NAVIG8 EXCELSIOR" from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. NAVIG8 STABILITY and NAVIG8 EXCELSIOR will enter and be operated in Navig8's ALPHA8 and LR8 pools respectively.

Navig8 Acquires Product Tanker
Navig8 Product Tankers Inc., an international shipping company focused on the transportation of petroleum products, today announced that it has taken delivery of the Navig8 Experience, a 74,000 DWT LR1 tanker from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. The Navig8 Experience will operate in Navig8 Group’s LR8 commercial pool. Thus far the Company has taken delivery of five LR1 and four LR2 product tanker newbuildings and anticipates that its entire newbuilding fleet will be delivered by the end of 2016.
TOP Tankers Takes Delivery Of Suezmax Tanker
TOP Tankers has taken delivery of the M/T Errorless, a 147,048 DWT tanker, built in 1994 by Harland & Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd, of the United Kingdom. The vessel has been financed with the Company's cash reserves and secured bank debt. The M/T Errorless is the third of four Suezmax deliveries for the fourth quarter of 2005, with the remaining vessel expected by the beginning of December 2005. The Errorless has been chartered for a spot voyage at a TCE rate of approximately $70,000 per day.
OMI Takes Delivery of Tamar
OMI Corporation of Stamford, Conn., has taken delivery of the vessel TAMAR, a 70,100 dwt product carrier built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. Upon delivery the vessel commenced a five year time charter to a subsidiary of BP. Craig H. Stevenson, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer commented that, "we are pleased to strengthen our relationship with BP, which also chartered the OTTAWA, a sister ship in May of this year for a 5 year period."
TOP Tankers Takes Delivery of M/T Stormless
TOP Tankers Inc. took delivery of M/T Stormless, a 150,038 DWT double-hull Suezmax tanker, built in 1993 by Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd of Japan. The M/T Stormless is the first of four Suezmax deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of 2005 and has been financed with the Company's cash reserves and secured bank credit lines. The vessel will be deployed in the spot market, which currently averages approximately $60,000 per day.
Aries Maritime Takes Delivery of Tanker
Aries Maritime Transport Limited announced it has taken delivery of the second of two new products tankers it acquired from the Stena Group. Upon delivery, the 72,750 dwt 2006-built double-hulled Panamax products tanker entered into a 2.5 year bareboat charter agreement with the Stena Group at a rate of $18,700 per day, which is equivalent to a time charter rate of approximately $24,500 per day. In addition, the bareboat charter with the Stena Group has a profit sharing component with a 30 percent share for Aries.
Paragon Takes Delivery of Ninth Vessel
Paragon Shipping Inc. has taken delivery of the third of the three drybulk carriers that it had contracted to acquire using the net proceeds of its recent public offering together with bank borrowings. The company took delivery on September 17, 2007 of the Diamond Seas, a 74,274 dwt Panamax drybulk carrier built in 2001. The Diamond Seas has been chartered to Vespucci Marine C.V. pursuant to a time charter with a remaining period of approximately 32 to 34 months at the charterer's option, at an initial rate of $27,500 per day, gross of commissions. Star Bulk Takes Delivery of Third Vessel
Star Bulk Carriers Corp. announced that it has taken delivery of the M/V Star Kappa (ex E Duckling), a Supramax vessel of 52,055 dwt built in 2001 in Japan. Star Kappa is an addition to the initial fleet, was acquired for USD 72 million and is the third vessel to be delivered to the Company following the completion of the Redomiciliation Merger. Star Kappa has a Time Charter employment contract at a gross daily rate of USD 47,800 with earliest expiration date of September 23, 2010. Star Bulk has agreed to acquire a total of nine dry bulk vessels including two Capesize, one Panamax and six Supramax vessels. As of today, the company has taken delivery of three Supramax vessels. The remaining six vessels are scheduled for delivery by mid-January 2008, as per the table below.

Star Bulk Carriers Corp. has taken delivery of the Star Alpha (ex A Duckling), a Capesize vessel of 175,075 dwt built in 1992. Star Alpha is currently under a preexisting time charter employment contract at a gross daily rate of USD 47,500 which continues until October 2009. Star Bulk has agreed to acquire a total of nine dry bulk vessels including two Capesize, one Panamax and six Supramax vessels. As of today, the company has taken delivery of two Capesize and six Supramax vessels, thereby expanding its operational fleet to eight vessels. Qatar Shipping Takes Delivery of Tanker
The Qatar Shipping Co recently took delivery of MT Umlma, the fourth newly built tanker from the series of six 105,000 deadweight ton vessels being constructed by South Korea's Hyundai Shipyard. The tanker was received by Ranjit Singh, Technical Manager, Q-Ship, on behalf of his company at Hyundai's shipyard in Busan. It is reported that they will carry petroleum.
