Frontline & TI form new VLCC Company

Frontline Management (Bermuda) Ltd. and Tankers International LLC (TI) today announced the formation of a new company, VLCC Chartering Ltd ('the Company'). *to reduce voyage related expenses and thereby improve the net earnings (TCE) of the Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) operated by both owning companies through optimisation of voyages. *to reduce carbon emissions as a direct consequence of using less fuel for cargo movements through fleet optimisation. VLCC Chartering will have access to the combined fleets of Frontline and the TI Pool and will primarily identify the right ship for each cargo offered and on that basis select one ship to bid taking into consideration operational factors.

Euronav: USD 350m Capital Increase to Support Maersk VLCC Acquisition

On 5 January 2014, Euronav announced the acquisition of fifteen (15) Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC) from Maersk Tankers Singapore Pte Ltd. for a total acquisition price of USD 980 million. Knightsbridge Gets VLCC Time Charters

Knightsbridge Tankers Limited has secured medium-term time charter contracts for two of the company's five very large crude carriers (VLCCs). The company has chartered the vessels to Tankers International LLC, each for a period of three years at a rate of $30,000 per day with a 50:50 profit sharing arrangement for earnings in excess of $30,000 per day calculated by reference to the BITR Index. Tankers International LLC is a pool for the commercial operations of four large tanker owners and operators: A.P. Moller, Euronav Luxembourg SA., Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc and Reederei "Nord" Klaus E. Oldendorff. The two time charters will commence prior to April 30, 2004.

Knightsbridge Secures Charters for Two Vessels

Knightsbridge Tankers Limited announced it has secured medium-term time charter contracts for two of the company's five very large crude carriers (VLCCs). Knightsbridge Announces Time Charter

Knightsbridge Tankers Limited entered into new time charter agreements for its two very large crude carriers, TI Ningbo and TI Qingdao. The two VLCCs, which are currently time chartered to Tankers International LLC, will commence their new time charter employment directly after the current charters expire in the first half of 2007. The TI Ningbo has been chartered for a period of four years and the TI Qingdao for a period of five years. The charter income for each VLCC will consist of a fixed base rate of $37,750 per day plus a market related element being 50 percent of the difference between a spot market related rate index and the base rate. (The VLCCs current charters are at a base rate of $30,000). The new charterer is Frontline Ltd.

Overseas Shipholding To Purchase Two VLCCs

Overseas Shipholding Group Inc. on Tuesday said it will buy two very large crude oil carriers (VLCCs) from Bergesen D.Y. ASA for a total of $156 million, through its joint venture with Frontline Ltd. and Euranov Luxumbourg SA. The purchase of the two additional vessels from Bergesen will bring the number of new vessels acquired from Bergesen by the joint venture to six. Overseas Shipholding said four of the ships will be delivered over the next two months and the remaining two will be delivered in February and July next year. The joint venture, known as Tankers International LLC, has acquired a total of seven modern vessels over the past year. Each company holds a one-third interest in the venture.
