BMT Names de Bruin Managing Director for Europe

BMT announced Dennis de Bruin has been appointed Managing Director for BMT’s Commercial Shipping Europe business, with immediate effect.A BMT employee since 2004, de Bruin has more than 20 years of experience in the maritime industry. He has served for the last seven years as Marine Director for BMT's nautical and cargo department of the Rotterdam office.He will succeed Jeroen de Haas as Managing Director of our European offices in the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland, who has been at the helm of Commercial Shipping Europe since 2001…

Kongsberg, Siemens Partnership to Deliver VFD

SMM 2016, Hamburg, 8 September 2016, Hall B6 Stand 104 – Kongsberg Maritime and Siemens have signed a partnership agreement based on delivery of components on Variable Frequency Drives systems for offshore and maritime vessels. Siemens has been chosen as a partner for Kongsberg Maritime due to the synergies between both companies in terms of their complementary world class product and technology portfolios. Schlumberger, Cameron Merger Complete

Schlumberger Limited (NYSE:SLB) announced today that it has closed its merger with Cameron International Corporation. As previously announced, each Cameron stockholder is entitled to receive 0.716 shares of Schlumberger common stock and $14.44 in cash, in exchange for each Cameron share. Schlumberger has issued approximately 138 million shares pursuant to the merger. As a result, former Cameron stockholders own approximately 10% of Schlumberger’s outstanding shares of common stock. The transaction combines two complementary technology portfolios into a pore-to-pipeline products and services offering to the global oil and gas industry.

Subsea 7 Teams up with OneSubsea

Subsea 7 and Houston-based OneSubsea have announced the signing a global alliance agreement to combine resources and collaborate on selected projects. The firms will jointly design, develop and deliver integrated subsea development solutions. OneSubsea is owned by Cameron and Schlumberger. The alliance will bring together Subsea 7’s experience and technology in seabed to surface engineering, construction and life-of-field services with OneSubsea’s unique reservoir expertise and state-of-the-art subsea production and processing systems technologies. The alliance will combine both companies’ resources to collaborate on selected projects, engaging early to improve field development planning from the reservoir to the production facility.

Jay M. Cohen, Rear Admiral USN (ret), Joins Halo Board

Paul C. Jensen, CEO of Halo Maritime Defense Systems (HMDS),announced the addition of the Honorable Jay M. Cohen, Rear Admiral USN (ret), as Chairman of the Board. Admiral Cohen is a native of New York. He was commissioned in 1968 upon graduation from the United States Naval Academy. He holds a joint Ocean Engineering degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Master of Science in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture from MIT. His early Navy assignments included service on conventional and nuclear submarines.
