Diversity, Tech on Tap at WISTA Conference

A top hostage negotiator, the CEO of a company which supplies environmental products to ship owners and operators and the heads of two maritime technology firms are all part of an impressive line-up of speakers scheduled to speak at the 2019 Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) AGM & Conference which takes place next week from Tuesday, October 29, to Friday, November 1. The four-day event is being hosted by WISTA Cayman Islands and is expected to bring over 200 maritime experts from 30-plus countries.

regs4yachts Announces New CEO

regs4yachts, experts in regulations and compliance for large yachts, announced the appointment of Nick Gladwell as Chief Executive. Nick will be starting in this role on the September 1, 2005. Until recently Nick was the Director of Safety & Survey at the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR). Before joining the CISR Nick was a Principal Surveyor with the MCA. He has served at sea as a Chief Engineer and has extensive experience as a Superintendent. The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry is the largest super-yacht registry in the world and Nick is a renowned expert in building and operating yachts to the MCA Code. During his seven years at the CISR he assisted numerous yacht owners, operators, captains, engineers and project managers to resolve potentially costly problems.

CISR to Strengthen Commercial Shipping Services in Greece

The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR) announced Monday the re-launch of its operations in Greece with a strengthened, dedicated team based in Athens and the introduction of full-line services for commercial shipping. The announcement was made by Mr Joel Walton, CEO (Designate) Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) and Director, CISR, as part of its participation at Posidonia 2006, the world's foremost commercial shipping exhibition.
