FORAN Users Meeting (FORUM 2014)
The Eighth FORAN Users Meeting (FORUM 2014) took place June 11-13, 2014 in the Parador de la Granja, Segovia, and when it was over the organizers proclaimed it a great success, recording the highest number of participants ever. On Thursday June 12, Rafael de Góngora, General Manager of SENER Marine Business Unit, welcomed the attendees and encouraged an open sharing of experience in using the FORAN System. Miguel Ángel Rojí, from Navantia (Spain), presented about the optimization of the design and production in the Spanish shipbuilding group of reference.

Organized every two years among the FORAN users, the Eight FORAN Users Meeting (FORUM 2014) took place from June 11-13 in the Parador de la Granja, Segovia. Shipbuilding Software will be a SENER Focus at DSEI 2013

New Patrol Boats for Russian Coast Guard
The ship, named the Brilliant, was developed by the Severnoye Design Bureau and built at the Almaz shipyard in St. Petersburg. Project 22460 ships are designed to protect state borders and patrol territorial waters, and also to fight sea piracy. The new vessels are intended to replace the Soviet-built patrol fleet. The lead ship of the project, the Rubin, was handed over to the Russian Federal Security Service’s Black Sea-Azov Frontier Directorate in September 2010. Another serial ship, the Zhemchug, is currently under construction. Project 22460 ships’ water displacement is 630 tons; they have a maximum speed of 30 knots, an operating range of 3,500 miles, and endurance of up to 30 days. The 62.5-meter vessels are equipped with advanced navigation and communication systems and a helipad.
Indian Warship Begins Sea Trials
INS Tarkash (serial number 01355) is the second Project 11356 frigate of a three-ship series ordered by India for its navy. The lead ship – INS Teg (F45) – was handed over to the customer on Apr 27, 2012 and is currently heading for her homebase Visakhapatnam. Russian-builit Warship Handed Over to Indian Navy
Official handover ceremony of the first of three Project 11356 frigates was held recently at Yantar Shipyard (affiliate of United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) in Kaliningrad. The up-to-date ship built for Indian Navy under name of INS Teg was developed by Severnoye Design Bureau.According to the contract, Yantar Shipyard are to build three frigates of this project for Indian Navy. Experts say Project 11356 is one of the most effective in its class. JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation is Russia's largest shipbuilding company.
Severnoye Design Bureau Extends Sener Deal
The Severnoye Design Bureau, a leading company designing naval and commercial ships in Russia, was founded in 1946. Throughout the Bureau's more than 62-year life a group of highly qualified naval architects has been capable to solve the most complicated tasks in the area of designing ships and vessels. The Bureau has designed more than a hundreds ships of different type ranging from 500-ton patrol boat to 26,000-ton heavy nuclear-powered cruiser, and from bulker to whaling boat. In general, more than 550 ships and vessels with a total displacement of about 1,5 million tons have been built under the Bureau's designs. All of them are notable for their seaworthiness, reliability and operation economy. Some of the vessels were for the international market.
