Radio Holland, Thome Ship Management Ink SRA Deal for 200 vessels
Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd and Radio Holland Singapore have concluded a Service Rate Agreement (SRA) covering the NavCom service and maintenance needs of its entire fleet of more than 200 vessels. Headquartered in Singapore, Thome Ship Management has worked together with Radio Holland for many years. The two companies have now taken a next step to a new format of cooperation with the SRA, which includes everything from annual radio surveys to servicing bridge equipment, to the delivery of spare parts and on-the-spot troubleshooting. New Tanker Delivered to Ardmore Shipping
Ardmore Shipping Corporation announced that its latest newbuild tanker vessel, the Ardmore Chinook, was delivered by Japanese shipbuilder Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd from its Nagasaki shipyard on July 17, 2015. The Ardmore Chinook is a 25,000 DWT IMO 2 product and chemical tanker. Her addition to the Ardmore fleet increases the number of Ardmore vessels on the water to 21. 51 Awarded Scholarships by Singapore Maritime Industry
A total of 51 scholarships worth more than S$1.4 million were awarded this year, as part of continuous outreach and talent development efforts to meet the manpower needs of the growing Singapore maritime industry - an area which contributes to some 7 per cent of the nation's economy. Sponsored by maritime companies and organisations, the MaritimeONE (Maritime Outreach NEtwork) scholarships and Tripartite Maritime Scholarship Scheme (TMSS) support various local and overseas diploma and degree programmes. In all, 40 MaritimeONE and 11 TMSS scholarships were presented at the MaritimeONE Scholarship Awards Ceremony held at the M Hotel Singapore this evening.
Change of Technical Manager at Nordic
Nordic Shipholding A/S has appointed Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd and Columbia Shipmanagement (Singapore) Pte Ltd as new technical managers of its vessels replacing TB Marine Shipmanagement GmbH & Co. KG. The change in technical manager involves one-off costs. Nordic Shipholding said it does not expect this change to have a significant impact on the 2014 results.
Korean Shipyard Delivers Vroon Asphalt-Chemical Tanker
Dutch shipowners, Vroon B.V. The vessel was constructed at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, Ulsan, South Korea to ice-class requirements. Her sister vessel, Iver Brilliant, scheduled for delivery in July will be the last of 19 vessels constructed for Vroon at the Dockyard since 2005. In a ceremony held in Korea on 22 May, Iver Bright was named by Mrs Metos Delgado-van de Bospoort, wife of Mr Frans van de Bospoort, Managing Director Chemical, LPG & Product Tanker Group, DVB Bank. The vessel will be operated by Iver Ships B.V.
