China's CIC Changxing Shipyard Repairs 'Thor Enterprise'

The 42,529 dwt bulk carrier owned by Thor Shipping, Bangkok, Thailand, sailed from the yard after the 16 days scheduled for extensive repair work and hull coating. The main repair projects were FPT bottom plate renewal, main engine and boiler pipe/valve repairing, deck CO2 pipe renewal, tailshaft repair, hull sandblasting and coating, etc. Due to changeable weather and heavy rain at times the yard explains that they finished the hull coating first,  in order that the follow-up projects had sufficient time to be carried out. As the given time for repair period was very tight, the yard finished the fitting-out sections in the workshop and then fitted them in place on board.. All this was done on schedule and apparently to the satisfaction of the owners.
