Cummins Names Rumsey Its First Female CEO

Cummins said Thursday that Tom Linebarger will end his term as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Jennifer Rumsey, President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), will assume the role of President and CEO.Rumsey will be the seventh CEO and first woman to lead the company since it was founded in 1919. Cummins' Carter to Retire

Cummins Inc. announced that Distribution Business President Pamela Carter, the first woman to lead one of the company's four main business units, will retire April 1. Carter, who became Indiana's first African American woman Attorney General in 1993, has been with Cummins since 1997. She initially served as the Company's Vice President - General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Carter then held several key positions within Cummins Fleetguard before leading Cummins Filtration from 2005 to 2007. She has been President of the Distribution Business Unit since 2007.

Cummins Reports Revenue Jump in Q2 2014

Cummins Inc. reported its results for the second quarter of 2014. According to the report, second quarter revenue of $4.8 billion increased 7 percent from the same quarter in 2013. The increase year-over-year was driven by stronger demand in on-highway markets and distributor acquisitions in North America. Revenues in North America increased 14 percent while international sales decreased 1 percent compared to the second quarter a year ago. Within international markets, lower revenues in Mexico, Brazil and India offset stronger demand in China.

Cummins Works to Shrink Environmental Footprint

Cummins Inc. Chairman and CEO Tom Linebarger outlined the company's most extensive plan to date for environmental sustainability, including specific goals for reducing waste, water and energy. A core part of the company's mission is demanding that everything Cummins does leads to a cleaner, healthier and safer environment, which has also proven to be a business advantage. Cummins has been working hard to reduce its environmental footprint for years. Late in the 1990's Cummins began to view its technical expertise as a key competitive advantage to meet increasingly stringent regulations.

Cummins Reports Results for Q2 2013

Cummins Inc. today reported results for the second quarter of 2013. The company said they expect full year revenues to be in line with 2012. Second quarter revenues of $4.5 billion increased 2% from the second quarter of 2012. Revenues in North America increased by 7% and international revenues declined by 4%. Within international markets, growth in Brazil and China was offset by weaker demand in Europe, India and Mexico. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were $621 million or 13.7% of sales, compared to $663 million or 14.9% of sales a year ago, excluding special items. Net income attributable to Cummins in the second quarter was $414 million ($2.20 per diluted share), compared to $465 million ($2.45 per diluted share) in the second quarter of 2012 excluding special items.

Cummins Expands Indiana Facility, Creates Jobs

Cummins Inc. has announceda significant expansion of its Seymour campus that includes investing $219million in new construction and the addition of 290 jobs to support the company’s global high-horsepower engine business. Cummins Chairman and CEO Tom Linebarger was joined by Indiana Gov. MitchDaniels (R), U.S. Rep. Luedeman at an event that was attended by the 525 employees of the Seymour Engine Plant. This is the third major announcement in Seymour in two years, and in that time the company has added new engineering and production test cells, constructed a new shipping-and-receiving dock, enlarged the energy center and begun work on the QSK95 and the QSK120, the most powerful high-speed diesel engines in the world.
