Transas Simulators Used During IMRF Exercises

On June 1, a mass rescue simulation exercise using Transas Navigational simulator NTPRO 5000 took place within the International Maritime Mass Rescue Conference 2014 held by the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF). The conference was hosted by the Swedish Sea Rescue Society (SSRS). More than 100 participants gathered at simulator facilities of the Chalmers Universty of Technology (Sweden) and the Swedish Maritime Administration. Both organizations use the latest Transas navigational simulator NTPRO 5000.

Transas to Participate in ETC-2014

Transas will take part in the ETC-2014 – The second International Forum on Seafarers’ Education, Training and Crewing. The Forum which consists of the Conference and Exhibition will be held on 23-24th of April 2014 in Odessa, Ukraine. Andrey Sitkov will present Transas view on future trends and challenges in maritime simulation. Some of the topics include STCW training, financial issues and ways to overcome this, upcoming trends in the industry that will influence the maritime simulation market and new areas of simulator application. Maritime World Best Speakers: this year IMO Secretary-General Mr. Advertising and direct communication: Exhibition is visited by thousands of seafarers, cadets and other representatives of maritime industry.

Swedish Transport Approves Transas ECDIS Training

Transas Marine International has received Transportstyrelsen (Swedish Transport Agency) approval for its STCW conform generic ECDIS training. After successful formal and on-site Transportstyrelsen audits, Transas ECDIS training course was certified successfully and will be re-audited according to the regular Transportstyrelsen audit cycle. ECDIS Training offered by Transas Marine follows the IMO Model Course 1.27 fully compliant to the STCW 2010, which is compulsory for training from 1st of January 2012. This allows Transas to issue STCW 2010 compliant ECDIS training certificates.

Transas Streamlines Marine Management Structure

Transas Group has announced today the appointment of Andrey Belentiev as the Group's Director of the Marine Business Unit. Andrey Belentiev, former Managing Director of Transas (JSC), Russian marine business entity, is now in charge of the Transas marine business worldwide. Centralized strategic governance, technology development and financial management will contribute to a better overall performance of the Transas Group and its marine business. Ralf Lehnert, Managing Director, Transas Marine International continues running international part of the Transas marine business.

Transas Engine Room Simulator for Institute of Technical Education

Transas Marine has installed a Full Mission Engine Room Simulator at Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore. With installation of this simulator, ITE will be able to train students to operate machinery of MAN B&W 60MC Tanker LCC. Transas Provides ECDIS for Nonprofit Vessel

Transas Marine will supply and install its Navi-Sailor ECDIS Multifunction Display for the nonprofit GBA Ships e.V.’s service vessel Logos Hope, a deal in part financed by donation from the Transas Marine. GBA Ships is a private, nonprofit entity registered in Germany, which operates ships that sail around the world to bring knowledge, help and hope. GBA pioneered the concept of using ships to transport literature, humanitarian aid and people resources. The company's history goes back to 1970 when the first ship Logos was launched.

Transas Opens Office in India

Transas is opening a new office in Mumbai, India. By establishing the presence on the ground, Transas will be able to more effectively market its capabilities and target the growing opportunities in this strategically important region. By strengthening the presence in India, Transas will also expand into new market segments, like aviation, defence and edutainment. Thales, Transas Sign Cooperation Agreement

Development of a "Full Warship Trainer" at the focus of the cooperation. Thales Germany and Transas Marine International signed a cooperation agreement to develop and market a Full Warship Trainer (FWST). This modular simulation solution, which will be offered in various configurations, is the first of its kind to create a virtual simulation of an entire warship for training purposes: this encompasses the ship's control from the bridge, the work in the engine room, CMS (Combat Management System) training, realistic doorgunner exercises for helicopter missions or weapons training for boarding teams. Durban University of Tech New Engine Room Simulator

Transas Marine International in cooperation with its local distributor Radio Holland South Africa has recently installed a new engine room simulator at Durban University of Technology (DUT) Department of Maritime Studies, South Africa. The first group to be trained on the new engine room simulator will be the students registered for Marine Engineering Knowledge I, starting this semester. Part of their assessment will be a completion of series of progressive tasks aimed at obtaining basic operator skills and familiarization with an engine room equipment.
