Swedish global engineering group Trelleborg's offshore operation has been awarded a major multi-million USD contract by Mexican state-owned petroleum company, Pemex, for Elastopipe.Elastopipe, a patented flexible piping system developed for transporting a variety of fluids, will be installed on board the Abkatun A complex in the Bay of Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico.Morten Kristensen, Business Group Director at Trelleborg’s offshore facility in Norway, said: “This is our first contract made directly with Pemex and the largest contract in our history for Trelleborg’s Elastopipe system.

Trelleborg’s fluid handling operation, supplier of flexible bonded hose solutions for the crude oil, chemicals and liquefied natural gas (LNG) offshore industries, highlighted the areas where its Cryoline hose-in-hose transfer system for LNG will enable the extended use of LNG fuel, optimize the safety of its transfer and lower operator and supplier costs. Trelleborg has, through its business area Trelleborg Industrial Solutions, signed an agreement and finalized the acquisition of Loggers Rubbertechniek B.V., a Netherlands-based privately owned engineering company that provides specially engineered antivibration solutions, principally within marine applications. The company designs and develops solutions that minimize noise and dampen vibrations and shocks, mainly for onboard ship systems. The acquired operation has its head office in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, as well as a sales office in Germany. Sales amounted to approximately SEK 110 M in 2015. This bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.
