Triton Acquire LOD Diving Assets, Support Vessel

Triton Diving acquires the diving assets of Louisiana Oilfield Divers (LOD). Triton Diving Services, an affiliate company of Grey Mountain Partners, acquires diving assets of LOD, including 'Premier Explorer', a 208-foot, 4-point vessel. The LOD acquisition strengthens Triton’s position as the dominant shallow water (0-300’) commercial diving contractor operating in the Gulf of Mexico. The additional capacity provided by this acquisition will allow it to better serve its customers. Beth Lesniak, Vice President of Grey Mountain, said, "With a 20-ton lift capacity, accommodations for 40 crew and a fully functioning machine shop, the Premier Explorer vessel is an excellent addition to Triton’s growing dive service vessel fleet.

Triton Diving Uses Hughes Maritime Broadband

Triton Diving Services, LLC is keeping its crews safer and delivering more proficient diving services to offshore customers thanks to the Hughes Maritime Broadband solution from Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES). Louisiana-based Triton provides a host of diving services to oil companies, derrick barges, government, and commercial vessels, and other businesses operating in the Gulf of Mexico. The company is outfitting its fleet of vessels with high-speed Internet, data, VoIP, and video capabilities to provide critical ship-to-shore and diver-to-ship communications. Triton has been active in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill cleanup.

Dive Support Vessel Delivered to Stapem Offshore

The first of two new 18-meter catamaran dive support vessels built for Paris-based Stapem Offshore has been delivered by South African shipbuilder Legacy Marine Group. The Marshal Island-flagged vessel, Stapem Beluga, will operate in the coastal waters of Angola in support of oil and gas exploration and production. The vessel, designed by Incat Crowther, has been customized to suit Stapem’s specific operational requirements. The aft exterior deck utilizes available space by combining deck lockers and racks for diving equipment storage with a covered dive prepping area.

ONYX Special Services to Add ROV to Fleet

ONYX Special Services, soon to be Veolia Environmental Services, will be adding a DP2 ROV support vessel to its fleet, servicing the Gulf of Mexico. The RSV Toisa Vigilant will be supporting the 150 hp Triton XLS17 and the 100 hp Triton XL ROV. The Toisa Vigilant will be mobilizing the ROV's as well as a 35 ton knuckle boom crane during the last week in April 2006. We will be ready for service early May 06. There will also be a stern launched 50 ton heave compensated winch / A-frame installed at a later date. The Toisa Vigilant joins the DP2 Dive / ROV vessel Kingfisher, as well as the dive support vessels, Sir Lancelot and the Shinnichi Maru.

Triton XL38 ROV System Mobilizes in the GOM

Sonsub announced the mobilization of the Triton XL38 work class ROV system in the GOM. The Triton XL38, owned by Dominion Diving Limited in Halifax, Canada, has most recently worked on a long-term contract on the Terra Nova project for PetroCanada performing Drilling and Completion activities as well as being available for call-out work. Sonsub, based on a cooperation agreement with Dominion Diving, has chosen to mobilize the system here in the GOM in response to the high demand of subsea remote intervention support foreseen. Aqueos Wins GoM Contract

Subsea services provider Aqueos Corporation said it has been awarded a major contract for a large pipeline installation project located in the Gulf of Mexico. Aqueos said the contract, which commenced in December 2017 and will be completed in the first half of 2018, will support shallow-water pipeline installations in water depths up to 100 feet. The work scope will utilize the Aqueos diving support vessel (DSV) SPLASH, with surface dive teams utilizing its jet propulsion and built in NITROX diving system. The project will be supported by Aqueos’ project management team based in Broussard, La.

Triton’s Yacht-based Submersible to Debut in Monaco

New lightweight, low profile Triton 1000/3 LP designed specifically to fit into existing yacht tender garages. Triton Submarines (Triton) announced that it will introduce its newest model, the Triton 1000/3 LP (Low Profile) at the 2014 Monaco Yacht show September 24-27. Triton’s model line now includes eleven models configured for two to eight passengers with depth ratings from 1,000 feet (305 meters) to 5,500 feet (1,675 meters) as well as the full ocean depth rated Triton 36000/3. Yacht-based submersibles continue to gain popularity in the yachting community.

Three Persons 3,300-ft Submersible Sold

Brownie's Marine Group, developer, manufacturer & distributor of dive and water safety products, sells  a Triton 3300/3 submersible. The denomination 3300/3 refers to the depth rating of 3,300 feet for up to three people. Triton builds competitively superior submersibles uniquely suited to yacht and exploration ship integration. Triton Offers New South American Service

Triton Overseas Transport, a NVOCC and provider of international freight services, said it has recently launched services to and from South America. Harkand Set to Acquire Veolia Marine Services

Harkand, the international subsea inspection, repair, maintenance and light construction group, announced an agreement to acquire the main assets and business of Veolia Marine Services (VMS). Technip Wins Subsea Contract on Triton FPSO

Technip has been awarded a brownfield subsea contract for the Triton(1) floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, operated by Dana Petroleum, located in the central North Sea. This FPSO vessel is located 193 kilometers east of Aberdeen, at a water depth of approximately 90 meters. It produces oil and gas from different fields - Bittern, Guillemot West and North West, Clapham, Pict and Saxon, which are tied back to the FPSO vessel via subsea facilities comprising a series of pipelines and manifolds. ď‚· additional installation, repair and maintenance works.

Harkand Ramps up Activity in Asia Pacific

Harkand has increased its presence in the burgeoning Asia Pacific region by securing a clutch of multimillion dollar contracts for execution in 2013/14. Under a deal with PTSC Offshore Services, the ROV support vessel Harkand Harmony has been deployed on its first charter since joining the fleet in August and is carrying out flexible lay operations in the Ruby Field, offshore Vietnam, with the charter expected complete in late November. The contract commenced in October with the work scope including a heavy duty Work ROV and provision of personnel.

Northern Canyon Completes Gunnison Spar Contract

In November, Canyon Offshore Inc., a subsidiary of Cal Dive International mobilized the M/V Northern Canyon with two 2,500-m rated Triton XLS systems on board, to support the Gunnison Spar installation for Kerr McGee. Canyon operated as a subcontractor to Cal Dive International, Inc. The vessel has since completed a number of SPAR installation tasks, including survey array installation, flowline and riser installation support, mooring hook up support, and specific ROV intervention tasks relating to the SPAR completion. The vessel performed well in rough, winter conditions, and all assigned tasks were completed on schedule. The Northern Canyon is a 280-foot (85m) DP II vessel with accommodations for 58 personnel…

Triton Builds upon Recently Launched Service

Triton Overseas Transport, a global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and international freight service provider, today announced the recent launch of a less-than-container-load (LCL) export service from Houston to destinations throughout Central America and the north coast of South America. The newly launched service enhances Triton’s sailings to the growing trade regions and provides reliable, fast transportation at competitive rates to its international customer base. “Central and South America hold a large consumer base that relies on U.S. exports to meet much of their trade needs. Seated in the Gulf of Mexico, Triton is excited to open two previously underutilized LCL trade lanes to the region,” commented Sean Ratliff, sales associate at Triton Overseas Transportation.

Canyon Offshore Wins Contract on Deepwater Canyon Express

Canyon Offshore has been awarded a one-year Remotely Operated Vehicle services contract to support maintenance on the Canyon Express development in Mississippi Canyon in the Gulf of Mexico. At 7,200 feet of water, Canyon Express is the deepest operating production project in the world and includes three separate gas fields, King’s Peak, Aconcagua and Camden Hills. Under the terms of the contract, Canyon will provide integrated ROV and DP vessel services on an ongoing scheduled and callout basis. Initial planned work includes a detailed baseline CP and visual survey of the East and West flowlines, and the main umbilical and methanol coiled tubing lines. In addition, Canyon will replace subsea chemical injection valves and undertake other field maintenance and intervention tasks as required.

Sonsub Awarded Contract From Global Industries

Sonsub is pleased to announce they have been awarded a 1-year preferred provider agreement with Global Industries to provide forROV and ROV//DSV services to support Global’s projects in the Gulf of Mexico. Sonsub’s first project under the agreement will be to provide touchdown monitoring and ROV intervention support with the HOS Innovator vessel and Triton 27 ROV system. Triton 27 will be mobilized onboard the “Hercules” lay-barge to monitor the pipe from the pipe at the stinger output, while the INNOVATOR®9 ROV system onboard the HOS Innovator, will perform touchdown monitoring and other required ROV intervention tasks.

Brunswick Sells Fishing Holdings to Triton Boats

Fishing Holdings, LLC, a manufacturer and marketer of fiberglass fishing boats owned by an affiliate of Platinum Equity, announced its acquisition of Triton Boats from Brunswick Corporation. Terms of the transaction are not disclosed. Triton founder Earl Bentz will join Fishing Holdings and resume his role at the helm of Triton Boats. Additionally, several key members of Triton's executive management and sales representative group will remain on board the Triton team and will continue to lead the brand from their Tennessee office. Triton fiberglass boats will be built in Flippin, Ark., where production will begin in fall of 2010. Brunswick will continue to manufacture Triton aluminum boats under a license agreement.  

McClaugherty Joins Surf Subsea as VP Biz Development

Surf Subsea, Inc. announced that Jim McClaugherty has joined the team as Vice President of Business Development. He will have the responsibility of leading the company’s Sales and Marketing efforts. Jim has 40 years of experience in the Offshore Industry. He started his career as a commercial diver in the Gulf of Mexico where, over a 10 year period, he held various positions, including tender, Diver, and Dive Supervisor. In 1979, Jim became a project manager and subsequently, served in the capacity of Operations Manager, General Manager and in Sales and Business development roles for a number of Diving and Marine Contracting Companies.
