New LNG Bunkering Safety Training Course

The Maritime Simulation Institute in Middletown, R.I., is developing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering safety training course, with the first session to begin in June for Harvey Gulf International Marine. The 45-hour bunkering course for Harvey’s LNG bunkering persons-in-charge (PIC) will be offered ahead of any U.S. Coast Guard regulations governing LNG bunkering. The first course likely will include Harvey Gulf master’s, mates and engineers. Courses will be offered at MSI facilities at Texas A&M outside Houston and at MFA, the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy in Stow, west of Boston.

Harvey Gulf Options for Sixth TY Offshore Dual Fuel Vessel

TY Offshore announced that Harvey Gulf International Marine has ordered the construction of an additional TY Offshore built 302’ x 64’ Dual Fuel Offshore Supply Vessel, bringing its total order to six. The order, and subsequent delivery, positions Harvey Gulf as the largest owner/operator of clean burning LNG Offshore Support Vessels in the world. TY Offshore is building all six vessels at their Gulfport, Mississippi shipyard. The vessels are powered by cleaner-burning natural gas and will achieve “ENVIRO+, Green Passport” Certification by the American Bureau of Shipping.

TY Offshore, LLC launched the FMT 3256, the eighth of eighteen 297’6” x 54’ x 12’, 30,000 barrel tank barges for FMT Industries, LLC, one of the several companies within the Florida Marine Group. FMT Industries recently exercised its option for four additional barges from its original order of ten. The barges are being built at TY Offshore’s Gulfport, Mississippi facility. Harvey Gulf Invests $540 Million in LNG Vessels

Chief Executive Officer of Harvey Gulf International Marine, Shane Guidry announced the execution of three agreements for vessels totaling $540 million. These purchases will raise the total capital expenditures of Harvey Gulf to $1.7 billion since August of 2008. The first agreement is between Harvey Gulf International Marine and Eastern Shipbuilding Group for the construction of two STXCV 340’ x 73’ x 29.5’ Heavy Lift Construction Vessels. -A 250 metric ton Active Heave Compensated Crane for deep water lowering. -12,000 square feet of usable deck space.

FMT Industries Orders Four Additional Tank Barges from TY Offshore

TY Offshore, LLC announced that FMT Industries ordered four additional 297’6” x 54’ x 12’, 30,000 barrel tank barges. With this new order and options for additional barges, TY Offshore will build up to 34 barges for FMT Industries. TY Offshore has already delivered six tank barges of the same class. In the more than two years since its founding, Mississippi-based TY Offshore, the former Trinity Offshore, has invested in a new yard in Gulfport and repaired its storm-damaged New Orleans holdings. The company has doubled its capacity and racked up new orders, president and CEO John Dane III said. TY Offshore designs and builds offshore barges, tugs, oilfield-support vessels and spill-response and patrol vessels. The company's new name, adopted in late June, should make business simpler. “We decided to rebrand for two reasons,” Dane said.

Harvey Gulf Buys 9 Bee Mar OSV's & to Stretch 5

Harvey Gulf International Marine closes its asset purchase purchase deal with Bee Mar LLC. The purchase price for the all-cash sale of Bee Mar's nine Offshore Supply Vessels was US$243-million. Harvey Gulf immediately renamed the vessels consistent with other Harvey Gulf vessels and began seeking bids to stretch 5 of the new vessels to meet 250’ OSV class specifications. Harvey Gulf also announced that it has exercised 2 of its 4 options to construct additional LNG OSV's at TY Offshore and added 2 additional options, which will eventually bring Harvey's new build LNG OSV's fleet to 10 vessels.

TY Offshore Launches First of Ten Tank Barges

Trinity Offshore, LLC and FMT Industries, LLC are pleased to announce the christening and launch of FMT 3242, the first of ten 297’6” x 54’ x 12’, 30,000 barrel tank barges. The festivities were held at TY Offshore’s Gulfport, Mississippi facility yesterday, July 24, 2012, and mark the first launch of what will become an entire fleet of barges. The remaining launches will follow on at thirty day intervals. FMT Industries, LLC, is one of the several companies within the Florida Marine Group (Florida Marine). The barges are being built at TY Offshore’s Gulfport, Mississippi facility.

Trinity Offshore Re-Brands as TY Offshore

John Dane III presented TY Offshore to the maritime industries. The re-branding of the company from Trinity Offshore to TY Offshore is intended to provide clear market positioning for the leading Mississippi-based designer and builder of commercial tugs, offshore barges, oil spill response, patrol and oil field support vessels from 10 meters to 95 meters (33’ to 312’) in length. The name change is also intended to delineate the company from Dallas, Texas-based Trinity Industries, Inc.
