Woodside Energy Delivers LNG from Australia's North West Shelf to Europe

Australian oil and gas company Woodside Energy said Monday it had delivered an LNG cargo to Europe on board the Woodside Rees Withers LNG carrier from Australia’s North West Shelf. The cargo of approximately 75,000 tonnes of LNG (100 million cubic meters of natural gas) was delivered on November 27, 2022, to Uniper Global Commodities SE (Uniper) at the Gate Terminal located on Maasvlakte in Rotterdam, the Netherladns. Canadian E.Coast LNG Export Plans Progress Shell Deal

Woodside in LNG Supply Deal with Uniper

Australian LNG producer Woodside signed a heads of agreement (HOA) with Uniper Global Commodities SE for a long-term (13 years) supply deal which would kick off in 2021.The quantity of LNG to be supplied will initially be up to 0.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), increasing to approximately 1 Mtpa from 2025.Woodside CEO Peter Coleman said the HOA, signed at Gastech in Houston, builds on previous LNG supply arrangements between Woodside and Uniper.“This HOA deepens our relationship with Uniper, an international energy company and a leading player in global gas markets. Flex LNG Reports 4Q Profit

Norway-listed shipowner Flex LNG reported a net profit of $1.3 million for the fourth quarter of 2017  compared to a net loss of $0.02 million in the corresponding quarter last year. The company’s net loss for the twelve months of 2017 widened to $10.4 million from a net loss of $1.8 million in the previous year. "In January, we successfully took delivery of the first two of our six newbuildings and secured a 15 to 18 month time charter for one of the vessels in line with our strategy to secure balanced fleet employment as the market continues to improve due to expected tighter supply/demand dynamics in the LNGC market,” he added. FLEX LNG Sings TC for First LNGC Newbuilding

FLEX LNG announced that it has entered into a time-charter contract for the LNG carrier newbuilding, Flex Endeavour, to Uniper Global Commodities, a leading international energy company with operations in more than 40 countries, and headquarter in Germany. Flex Endeavour is a state-of-the-art 173,400 m3 cargo capacity LNG carrier equipped with the new high efficiency MEGI propulsion system. The Vessel is currently under construction at DSME, South Korea. The time charter period is for 15 to 18 months commencing immediately upon the delivery from the shipyard in January 2018. This charter formalizes the arrangement that was agreed for the extension of the chartered-in vessel from April 2018.

Diana Shipping's Vessel Melite Grounds off Indonesia

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping's Panamax bulk carrier, Melite, has been temporarily disrupted due to a grounding incident at Pulau Laut, Indonesia. "The employment of one of its Panamax bulk carriers, the m/v Melite, has been temporarily disrupted due to a grounding incident at Pulau Laut, Indonesia," said a statement from the company. Although the Company is still assessing the situation, the crew is in no danger as a result of this incident and there has been no pollution. It appears that the vessel has suffered damage to her hull resulting from the grounding. The company did not provide any details related to the possible salvage operations. The “Melite” is a 76,436 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2004.

Screw Compressors for Dual-fuel LNG Carrier

Kobe Steel, Ltd. said it has received an order to supply the first two screw compressors for use with marine dual fuel engines. The compressors will be installed in an LNG carrier to be owned by a 50/50 joint venture between Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Co., Ltd. (or MOL) and Itochu Corporation for Uniper Global Commodities SE, a subsidiary of Uniper SE, Europe’s one of largest power and gas companies. Uniper Global Commodities will charter the new carrier for 20 years. Plans call for Kobe Steel to deliver the compressors in August 2017 to South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd., which is constructing the vessel. The market size of nonstandard compressors for marine dual fuel engines is forecast to total over 20 billion yen for the coming five years…

Greek dry bulk shipping company Diana Shipping has entered into time charter contracts for its two vessels, the M/V Orleans and the M/V Melite, which are scheduled to start in December 2016. "Diana Shipping, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a time charter contract with Koch Shipping Pte Ltd, Singapore, for one of its ize dry bulk vessels, the m/v New Orleans," says a statement from the company. The gross charter rate is US$11,250 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum twelve (12) months to maximum sixteen (16) months.
