Cameron Park, Cal. - Varna Products was recently presented with the United States Department of Commerce, U.S. Commercial Service, Export Achievement Certificate for recent accomplishments in the global marketplace. The award was presented by The Honorable E. Anthony Wayne, U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, during a recent forum for The California Chamber of Commerce Council for International Trade.

The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) have signed a Memorandum of Intent (MOI) at the Port of Oakland. This historic MOI implementing the “Partnership with America’s Seaports to Further the National Export Initiative” supports President Obama’s goal of doubling exports announced during his State of the Union speech in 2010. Under the agreement, ITA and AAPA will partner to coordinate communications, idea exchanges, activities and services that assist U.S. businesses in exporting; and to increase awareness of the available services, trade missions, programs and overseas events that involve U.S. export opportunities. Certificate to Small and Medium-Sized Firms was awarded to WESMAR in late May of 2002 by the United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Division. Commerce Deputy Secretary Samuel Bodman highlighted World Trade Week by presenting three Washington companies with the U.S. Department of Commerce's Export Achievement Award. The award recognizes business clients of the Department's Commercial Service that have used their services to make their first export sale or open new foreign markets. Accepting the award were company President Bruce Blakey and International Sales Director Gleb Tchaikovski. "We're very pleased about this award," said Blakey.
