North P&I Club Names Arklow Shipping's Tyrrell as Chair

North P&I Club has elected James Alexander Tyrrell as its new chair of the board, succeeding Pratap Shirke, in a change at the helm of the global marine insurer that also sees Ioanna Procopiou become the Club’s first female vice-chair.Tyrrell, a director of North member Arklow Shipping, takes up the role from February 4, having previously served as vice-chair of the North board. Euroseas Nine Months, Quarter Ended Report

Euroseas Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESEA), an owner and operator of drybulk and container carrier vessels and provider of seaborne transportation for drybulk and containerized cargoes, announced its results for the three and nine month periods ended September 30, 2009. - Net income of $2.2 million or $0.07 per share basic and diluted on total net revenues of $17.2 million. Excluding the effect of unrealized gain on derivatives, unrealized loss on trading securities and amortization of the fair value of charters acquired, the net loss for the period would have been $0.3 million, or $0.01 loss per share basic and diluted. - Adjusted EBITDA was $5.0 million.

Euroseas Ltd. Takes Delivery of 15th Vessel

Euroseas Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESEA), an owner and operator of drybulk carriers and container ships and provider of seaborne transportation for drybulk and containerized cargoes, announced that it has taken delivery of the M/V Trust Jakarta, to be renamed Ioanna P, a Panamax drybulk vessel of 64,873 dwt built in 1984 in Japan. The vessel was acquired for approximately $28.6m and was delivered with a time charter attached until July 2008 at a rate of $35,500 per day. The vessel has been partly financed with a bank loan of approximately $15m. Euroseas Ltd. Takes Delivery of 14th Vessel

Euroseas Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESEA), an owner and operator of drybulk carriers and container ships and provider of seaborne transportation for drybulk and containerized cargoes, announced that it has taken delivery of the M/V Tiger Bridge, an intermediate container ship of 30,400 dwt and 2,228 twenty-foot equivalent units (teu) built in 1990 in Korea. The vessel was acquired for approximately $24m and comes with a period charter attached until July 2009 at a rate of $16,500 per day. Following the delivery of M/V Tiger Bridge and of the contracted to be acquired, M/V Ioanna P, approximately 79% of Euroseas total fleet days in the fourth quarter of 2007 and approximately 45% in 2008 will be fixed under period charters…

Euroseas Expands Fleet

Euroseas Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESEA), an owner and operator of drybulk carriers, container ship and multipurpose vessels and provider of seaborne transportation for drybulk and containerized cargoes, signed a Memorandum of Agreement to purchase the M/V Trust Jakarta, a Panamax drybulk vessel of 64,873 dwt built in 1984 in Japan. The M/V Trust Jakarta was acquired for approximately $28.6 million and comes with a period charter attached until July 2008 at a rate of $35,500 per day.
