Vard to Convert IT Infinity PSV to Cable Laying Vessel

Norwegian ship designed and builder Vard has secured a contract from I.T. International Telecom Marine (IT) to convert its platform supply vessel (PSV) IT Infinity into a cable laying vessel (CLV).The PSV was built at Vard Brattvaag and delivered to Volstad Maritime in 2008 under the name Volstad Princess.SD Standard Drilling acquired the vessel in 2017 before it was sold to IT in 2021 and was renamed IT Infinity.The work will be carried out by Vard Brattvaag in Norway and the vessel will be delivered in the third quarter of 2024…

Volstad Orders NES Battery Pack for Subsea Construction Vessel

Helix, Volstad Agree Long Term Charters for Construction Support Vessel Duo

Helix Robotics Solutions Limited, the U.K. Robotics division of Helix Energy Solutions Group, and the Norwegian shipowner Volstad Maritime have agreed on five-year charter extensions for both the Grand Canyon II and Grand Canyon III construction support vessels to continue working on projects across multiple energy sectors.The two vessels have been under long-term charter with Helix since 2015 and 2016, respectively. The extended charter for the Grand Canyon II runs from January 2023 through the end of 2027, while the extended charter for the Grand Canyon III runs from May 2023 through May 2028, with a further option to extend. Financial details were not disclosed.

Reach Subsea Takes Volstad's Deep Cygnus Vessel on a 4-year Charter

Subsea service provider Reach Subsea has chartered Volstad Maritime's offshore construction vessel Deep Cygnus for four years, with an option to extend for one year.The vessel will be equipped with launch and recovery systems (LARS) and ROVs before the delivery to Reach Subsea.Reach will mobilize the 122-meter vessel during February/March 2023 and use the vessel on its own projects within IMR (inspection maintenance and repair) and light construction within the oil & gas and renewables sectors. DeepOcean Charters Volstad's Volantis Subsea Construction Vessel

Subsea services company DeepOcean has chartered Volstad Maritime's M/S Volantis subsea construction vessel, which will, before starting the charter in 2023, be upgraded with batteries to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.The time charter will run from the first quarter of 2023 until the end of 2024, with options for further extensions."DeepOcean has set a target to achieve a 45 percent reduction in CO2 emissions before 2030. Bibby Topaz Charter Extension

Bibby Offshore, provider of subsea installation and services to the offshore oil and gas industry, said it has secured a long-term extension to the charter of its dive-support vessel (DSV) Bibby Topaz, owned by Volstad Maritime. The terms and conditions of the extended charter arrangement have been adjusted to reflect the current market environment. According to Bibby Offshore, the charter extension allows it to maintain and grow the group’s market share in the North Sea DSV market.

Norwegian Group Sells Two Projects to Speed Shipbuilding Pull Out

Bergen Group says it has decided to accelerate the process of reducing its involvement in the shipbuilding business in favor of a more dedicated focus on offshore related activities. As a part of this process, Bergen explains it has entered into an agreement to sell two of the remaining shipbuilding projects to the shipyard group Kleven located in Sunnmøre, Norway. The sale will release approximately NOK 80-90 million in already invested working capital in these two projects.

MacGregor Offshore Cranes Meet Specialist Operator's Needs

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, secured its third identical offshore crane contract for Volstad Maritime AS series of 125m offshore construction vessels being built by Bergen Group Fosen shipyard in Norway. Cargotec Wins Another Volstad Crane Order

Volstad Maritime returns for repeat offshore crane contract from Cargotec. Following on from an order in April last year, Cargotec has won a contract for two active heave-compensated (AHC) offshore cranes from the privately-owned Norwegian specialist operator, Volstad Maritime. The two cranes, a 250-tonne MacGregor AHC subsea crane and a 15-tonne MacGregor AHC offshore crane, will be fitted to Volstad's new offshore construction vessel (OCV) on order at Bergen Group Fosen shipyard in Norway.

Cargotec Delivers Cranes for Volstad OCV

Safe and efficient MacGregor 250-tonne AHC subsea crane

In April Cargotec secured an order to supply two active heave-compensated (AHC) cranes for Volstad Maritime's large offshore construction vessel (OCV) on order at Bergen Group Fosen shipyard in Norway (hull 89), which is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2012. The contract comprises a 250-tonne MacGregor AHC subsea crane and a 15-tonne MacGregor AHC offshore crane. The advanced OCV is an ST-259-CD design from Skipsteknisk, and is 125m long and 25m wide. The vessel is designed to the highest environmental standards and Clean Design requirements. It will be classed to Ice-1A.

Skipsteknisk Design for Volstad

According to a report from Offshore Shipping Online, naval architect company, Skipteksnisk, has confirmed that Volstad Maritime in Aalesund, Norway ordered another seismic research vessel based on a Skipsteknisk design. Aker Yards to Outfit One ROV Survey / Supply Vessel for Volstad Maritime AS

Aker Brattvaag, a company in the Aker Yards Group, has signed a contract with Volstad Maritime AS, Ålesund, Norway for outfitting of one ROV Survey / Supply Vessel at Aker Langsten. The contract is worth approximately NOK 300 million. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in June 2005 and the work will start before Christmas 2004. Peter Tennfjord, Senior Vice President at Aker Langsten says in a comment: "This contract implies that we avoid temporary lay-offs that were previously scheduled from December and into the first quarter of 2005. The vessel has the designation ST-253L, designed by Skipsteknisk AS in Ålesund. The vessel will be 92.5 meters long and 18 meters wide.

Bibby Charters Offshore Support Vessel

Bibby Offshore Limited has entered into a long- term agreement to charter a new building 94 metre DSV/Construction Support vessel, built in Norway’s Aker Langsten Shipyard. The state of the art vessel, to be named Bibby Sapphire, is owned by Volstad Maritime AS. She will be available to the North Sea construction market from early August 2005, and her future deployment is currently being discussed with interested parties. Following the addition of a full 15 man Saturation Diving system, the vessel will also be available for diving work from the start of 2006. The DSV will be the first vessel of its kind to enter the North Sea region for some years and shows the commitment of this dynamic new player demonstrates Bibby Offshore’s commitment to this market.
