Australia Working to Reassure Indonesia Over Cattle Deaths

Australia’s Department of Agriculture (DAFF) has stated that testing has returned negative results for Lumpy Skin Disease and Foot and Mouth Disease, after over 150 cattle died on a voyage to Indonesia on Vroon’s Brahman Express.Australia has received confirmation from the Indonesian authorities that the export of live cattle from a particular registered establishment in the Northern Territory has been suspended pending further investigations to determine the cause of the deaths.The department continues to investigate…

Over 100 Cattle Die on Voyage to Indonesia

Over 100 cattle have died after departing Australia on the Brahman Express. The vessel, built in 2002 and operated by Vroon, was destined for Indonesia.This is one of the highest mortality rates reported on an Australian short haul cattle shipment, states Vets Against Live Export in a blog, which notes that the mortality rate of 7.69% on the GL Kaihou’s maiden voyage in 2017 is still likely to be higher. Vroon Buys Livestock Carrier from the Tsuneishi Group

Vroon announced it has acquired a livestock carrier from the Tsuneishi Group.The 83.9-meter-long vessel, Aurochs, purpose-built by Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding Inc. in 2017, is the youngest livestock carrier operating in the global market.The ship will be renamed Friesian Express and managed by Vroon's Livestock Express team as the 13th vessel in the company's livestock fleet. CBED Expands Fleet with Two SOVs

Danish shipowner CBED has acquired two SOVs which are expected to be delivered end of Q1 2024. Following delivery from seller, Dutch-based shipping company Vroon, both Wind Evolution (formerly Vos Start) and Wind Creation (formerly Vos Stone) will be dry-docked for refurbishing, name change and painting according to the CBED fleet design. They will be ready to take on new walk-to-work, IRM and subsea projects starting Q2 2024. The parties have chosen not to disclose the sales amount.

Vroon Offloads 30 Offshore Service Vessels to Britoil

Britoil Offshore Services said this week it had acquired 30 offshore service vessels and supporting offices in Singapore from Dutch shipping firm Vroon."The acquisition will see an expansion of Britoil’s operating footprint into the Mediterranean, the North Sea and Asia Pacific. The operations will also synergise in the Middle East and Africa," Britoil said.The 30 vessels and supporting offices were part of Vroon’s offshore services business. Earlier this year, Vroon announced it would sell these vessels as part of a strategic reorientation.

GEOS to Sell VOS Sugar Offshore Vessel at 'Substantial Profit'

The Norwegian offshore vessel owner Golden Energy Offshore Services AS (“GEOS”) said Wednedsay it had entered into a memorandum of agreement (the “MoA”) with an undisclosed buyer for the sale of the subsea support vessel VOS Sugar.The VOS Sugar is one of the Vroon Offshore vessels GEOS agreed to buy last month, a purchase which is in the process of completing. The MoA is subject to satisfactory vessel inspection by the buyer. Provided that the subject is lifted, the sale is expected to be completed in November 2023. Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) Aberdeen has secured contracts with Total E&P UK Ltd. for three emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRV) in the U.K. North Sea.The vessels VOS Enterprise, VOS Prospector, and VOS Vigilant will support Total’s North Sea operations in the Dunbar, Culzean, and Elgin/Franklin fields, respectively."The contracts, which will commence in June and July, are for an initial period of three years," Vroon said Friday, July 17, meaning that some of these contracts have already started.

Vroon, Jisco Extend Nautical Aisya AWB Partnership

JISCO Marine and Vroon Offshore Services Singapore have signed a two-year extension agreement for the management of the Accommodation Work Boat (AWB) Nautical Aisya. This renewal will extend the JISCO and VOS Singapore cooperation until at least the end of February 2022, Vroon said Monday.The extension follows a recent contract award to Jisco marine by Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) for AWB Nautical Aisya. The new charter started on February 1, 2020. The vessel, which has provided DP2 (Dynamic Positioning) role for BSP, will now widen its work scope to include helicopter operations, Vroon said.

Ziton Charters New O&M Vessel

Danish company Ziton has added Vroon jack-up MPI Enterprise to its fleet under a bareboat charter agreement.The vessel has been chartered on a bareboat agreement with Vroon as of 28 May 2019 until 31 March 2021. Ziton will then have the option to acquire the vessel.This fleet expansion is part of Ziton’s strategy to meet changing market dynamics, in which offshore wind turbines with capacities of 7‐10 MW are increasingly commonplace.Enterprise will be available to our customers under existing framework agreements. BP Extends Vroon ERRVs Contract

VOS Champion Starts New Charter

Vroon Offshore Services reports its Singapore-managed anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS ) vessel VOS Champion has started a five-month contract with a major international oil and gas engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contractor. The firm period of the current contract will last until March 2020.VOS Champion, which had been under charter to Chevron earlier this year, was delivered to her new charterers in early November and immediately mobilized to Sandakan, Malaysia.
