International brake supplier Dellner Brakes AB said it will launch new range of ‘plug and play’ electrohydraulic braking systems at this year’s SMM in Hamburg.The new BUEL STL systems provide a compact, self-contained solution for stopping, turning and locking ship propeller shafts on vessels of all sizes, as well as for industrial applications. Thuraya Partners with T-Mobile to Launch Roaming Service in USA
Thuraya Telecommunications Company has launched its roaming service in the United States of America in partnership with the American mobile operator, T-Mobile. The service, which commenced on July 12, allows Thuraya subscribers to roam seamlessly with their Thuraya mobile numbers into the T-Mobile network that reaches 96 percent of Americans. Thuraya customers in the region can now make and receive calls, and also send and receive text messages (SMS). The Company’s GmPRS roaming service will be enabled afterwards on the T-Mobile network. NMEA Recognizes New Compliant Products
The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) is recognizing four marine electronics manufacturers for introducing their new NMEA 2000 compliant products at the 2002 NMEA Convention. The participating companies are Kvaser, Raymarine, Simrad, and Teleflex. Kvaser is introducing Kvaser Neptune hardware and software, which provides a gateway between maritime serial and CAN communications. It is equipped with two serial channels and one CAN channel to translate select NMEA 0183 formatted messages to their NMEA 2000 counterparts. In addition, select NMEA 2000 messages are translated to NMEA 0183 messages. With power provided by the NMEA 2000 bus, installation is as simple as mounting and connecting the communication channels.
