W&O Actuated Valve Solution for Vigorous

W&O

W&O is one of the partners that supported Vigor in the $40m project to build and deliver the largest floating drydock in the U.S. – Vigor Industrial’s Vigorous –  which was delivered recently to its new home in Portland on the Willamette River. W&O provided an actuated valve solution for the ballast system of the drydock, and from design specification through initial commissioning, the W&O team provided technical and product support  for the Vigorous ballast system, a system that uses SPACE Gate Valves, EIM Electric Actuators, reach rods and deck stands.

The marine industry watched as the United States’ largest floating drydock, the Vigorous, was delivered to its final home at Vigor Industrial’s Portland shipyard on the Willamette River in August. W&O is one of the partners that supported Vigor in this $40 million dollar project, by providing an actuated valve solution for the ballast system of the drydock. From design specification through initial commissioning, the W&O team has provided technical and product expertise for the Vigorous ballast system, utilizing SPACE Gate Valves, EIM Electric Actuators, reach rods and deck stands.

New Fittings in the Georg Fischer Piping System

The addition of Schedule 80 drain waste and vent (DWV) fittings will complete the current product offering for SeaCor Schedule 80 thermoplastic pipe. Customers will now have access to a complete thermoplastic piping system solution, with one material and one installation process, for use in all nonessential grey, black and freshwater applications.

W&O Europe Announces Expansion

W&O, a global supplier to the marine and marine offshore markets for pipe, valves and fittings, valve automation and engineered solutions, announced the expansion of its European operations into Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar through a strategic partnership with Puerto y Bahía, a marine supply company headquartered in Cadiz, Spain. W&O Named Exclusive U.S./Canada Distributor of Hyde Guardian

Hyde Marine, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgon Carbon Corporation, said it has named W&O Supply as its exclusive sales distributor in the U.S. and Canada for Hyde Guardian Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS). The chemical free Hyde Guardian BWTS uses efficient filtration and ultraviolet disinfection to treat ships' ballast water to prevent the spread of invasive species from port to port. In April 2013, the Hyde Guardian BWTS earned the Alternate Management System (AMS) approval from the United States CoastGuard (USCG).

W&O Launches New Branch in Halifax, Canada

W&O launched a new branch in Halifax, Canada. The new branch is located at 133 Ilsley Avenue, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1S9. With a branch already established in Vancouver, W&O’s growing Canadian presence well-positions them to support the completion of the Canadian Navy’s $35 billion fleet expansion program over the next 20 to 30 years. “Our established Halifax and Vancouver locations provide us with a competitive advantage over other non-Canadian competitors,” said Michael Hume, President and CEO of W&O. W&O Opens Second European Facility
