Chevron Aims to Shrink the Carbon Footprint of Its LNG Fleet

Sembcorp Delivers 8th-generation Drillship Deepwater Titan to Transocean

Singapore-based shipbuilder Sembcorp Marine has delivered Deepwater Titan, the world’s second 8th-generation drillship, to Transocean subsidiary Triton Titan GmBH.Deepwater Titan is the second of two new 8th-generation drillships constructed by Sembcorp Marine based on the group’s Jurong Espadon 3T design. The dual-derrick drillship is the first-ever unit delivered with two 20,000-psi blowout preventers (BOPs), well-control, riser and piping systems for high-pressure and high-temperature drilling and completion operations.

Sembmarine Builds Zero-emissions RoPax Ferry for Norled

Sembcorp Marine announced it has completed fabrication of the first of three identical battery-operated roll-on/roll-off passenger (RoPax) ferries for Norwegian ferry operator Norled.The newly built Hella will be launched into operation for Norled’s shortsea Hella-Vangsnes-Dragsvik connections in Norway.Designed by Sembcorp Marine subsidiary LMG Marin, the vessels incorporate energy-efficient solutions throughout, including quick connection shore charging plugs; auto-mooring; auto-cross; efficient hull, propulsion and heat recovery systems; as well as minimized hotel and auxiliary loads.

LMG Marin to Design Zero-emissions Fuel Tanker

Naval architecture firm LMG Marin has secured a contract to design a zero-emissions tanker for Grieg Edge, the dedicated innovation unit of the Grieg Maritime Group. Sembcorp in Offshore R&D Pact with A*Star

GTT has signed a Technical Assistance and License Agreement (TALA) with Singapore-based Sembcorp Marine for the design and construction of Sembcorp Marine's Gravifloat, FSRU and mid-scale LNG carrier products, using GTT membrane solutions. Sembcorp Marine Outlook Subdued on Q1 Profit Slump

Sembcorp Marine Swings to Q2 Loss

Singaporean rig builder Sembcorp Marine Ltd swung into the red in the second quarter, and cautioned a trend of negative operating profit would continue in the near term as overall business volume remains low.It turned in a loss of S$55.6 million ($40.68 million) for the three months ended June, compared with a profit of S$5.1 million in the same period a year ago.Sembcorp Marine, majority owned by industrial conglomerate Sembcorp Industries Ltd, saw its revenue more than double to S$1.63 billion due to revenue recognition on delivery of some rigs.

SembMarine Snaps up GraviFloat

Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine (Sembmarine) has increased its stake in Norway-based Gravifloat AS to 56%, which it intends to fully acquire eventually. In a statement on Wednesday, SembMarine says it acquired a 44% stake in Gravifloat for US$38 million ($52.6 million), in addition to the 12% stake it already owns. The agreement also allows Sembmarine to eventually increase its stake by a further 44% to 100% through an equity purchase at the same price. Sembcorp Profit Halved as Clients Defer Projects

Revenue falls 30 pct; order book at S$9.7 billion. Singapore rig-builder Sembcorp Marine's quarterly profit halved as customers deferred projects, and it faces prolonged uncertainty on contracts from its biggest client, Sete Brasil, whose shareholders have approved its bankruptcy. Sembcorp Marine posted a profit of S$55 million ($41 million) for the three months ended March 31, compared with a profit of S$106 million a year ago. Sembcorp Marine and its cross-town rival Keppel Corp have been hit by slumping orders as oil prices dropped nearly 60 percent since mid-2014. Exacerbating the situation are troubles at Sete Brasil, a company set up by corruption-battered Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras).
