Survitec Names New CEO

UK-based survival technology solutions provider Survitec has appointed Robert Steen Kledal as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO)."As CEO, Robert will be responsible for setting Survitec’s strategic direction. Wrist Expands Despite Tough 2018

Despite difficult markets Wrist Ship Supply was able to grow its business during 2018 and to consolidate its position as the world’s largest supplier of provisions and stores to ships and offshore locations, claimed the ship and offshore supplier of provisions and stores.Most shipping segments saw pressure on earnings, and the recovery in the oil and gas markets was limited during 2018. V.Group Appoints Ian El-Mokadem as CEO

UK-based ship management company V.Group announced the appointment of Ian El-Mokadem as Chief Executive Officer and Martin Gaard Christiansen as Chief Commercial Officer. Both will assume their positions in the autumn. Ian joins from Exova, the global provider of technically demanding testing, calibration and related advisory services, where he served as Chief Executive for the last six years. Ian was responsible for professionalising and growing the business, which operates in 33 countries, has a network of 4,200 experts across 138 laboratories, and is trusted by customers in industries such as aerospace, defence, and oil and gas to test and advise on safety, quality and performance of their products.

Winners of International Seafarers' Welfare Awards

The winners of ISWAN's International Seafarers' Welfare Awards 2016 were announced on 24th June at a high-profile ceremony held in Manila, the Philippines. The ceremony forms part of ISWAN's celebrations in the Philippines for the IMO Day of the Seafarer. The awards were presented by IMO Secretary General Mr Kitack Lim to seven recipients who have provided exceptional services for the welfare and wellbeing of seafarers. The Welfare Personality of the Year Award is named after Dr Dierk Lindemann who sadly passed away on 17 March 2014. Dr Lindemann served as the Shipowner's Group spokesperson at the ILO and took a lead role in the adoption of the Maritime Labour Convention. Seagoing Menu-Planning Software: Wrist Sees Demand

As shipowners anticipate the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC)  seafarer welfare regulations, Wrist Ship Supply, says it has experienced growing demand for its menu-planning software programme, WristXena. Aimed at streamlining the purchasing process for consumable ship supplies, optimising vessel economy and improving health at sea, WristXena was launched to the market in September 2012. More than 35 vessels are now using the programme. With just four months to go until the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 enters into force on August 20, Wrist’s global customer base of shipowners is treating this as a priority and seeking tools such as WristXena to prepare for new compliance.

Ship Suppliers Launch Victualling Software

Wrist Ship Supply launch 'Xena', to streamline the purchasing of consumable ship supplies, optimising vessel economy & improving health at sea. The Xena software is a menu-planning tool and electronic cookbook which provides ship owners with inventory control, reducing waste and enabling transparency to ensure they stay within nutritional guidelines. Recipes in this programme also provide cost per meal information and reconcile this against existing food stock. Xena enables ordering, stock and menu planning that takes into account regulation around seafarer catering, stipulated in the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006. MLC 2006 has been ratified by 29 countries to date, and is expected to enter into force in 2013.

Offshore Sector Helps Wrist Ship Supply Grow in 2011

Wrist Ship Supply reported solid growth in market share and turnover following a year of focused consolidation. According to the company, its turnover reached DKK 2,447 million in 2011, an increase of 20% since 2010, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased by 45% to DKK 21.7 million. The company saw positive development across regional operation areas, particularly Asia-Pacific and Germany. Wrist Ship Supply acquired Strachans Ltd, a market-leading independent food distributor to the UK offshore industry, completing a period of significant growth totalling six acquisitions in Europe, America and Canada between 2009 and 2011.

Wrist Ship Supply, part of the Wrist Group, announced the acquisition of World Ship Supply, West Coast Ship Supply, East Coast Ship Supply and Karlo Corporation – collectively known as One Source North America - the largest ship supply organization in North America. The move represents the largest deal in the Wrist Group’s corporate history, and provides the organization with a major footprint into the U.S. and Canadian markets. The acquisition marks Wrist Ship Supply’s fifth deal in the past 12 months, and continues Wrist Group’s strategy of controlled global expansion.
