Campbell Shipping Migrates to Inmarsat Fleet Xpress

Inmarsat said it has reached an agreement with Campbell Shipping, a ship management company headquartered in Nassau, The Bahamas, to migrate its fleet of dry bulk carriers to Fleet Xpress. The commitment will involve a migration and upgrade from Inmarsat’s XpressLink services to Fleet Xpress, in a move to ensure ships managed by Campbell ships will continue to have the best satellite connectivity service available on the market, according to Capt. Anindya Dasgupta, VP Human Capital, Campbell Shipping.

Inmarsat Enhances Installation Support Network

Inmarsat (LSE: ISAT.L) has responded to demand for its ground-breaking Fleet Xpress service by boosting from six to 33 the number of ports where a complete service installation with a flat fee is available. Fleet Xpress installation will now be available at 12 Asia Pacific ports, 11 in the Europe Middle-East and Africa region, and 10 ports in the Americas, with all work undertaken by Inmarsat-certified engineers. Inmarsat Fleet Xpress Passes 10,000 Ship Milestone

Satellite communications services provider Inmarsat says that "in an extraordinary level of service uptake surpassing expectations," its Fleet Xpress service has secured commitments covering in excess of 10,000 ships within 12 months of launch. Fleet Xpress delivers a fully integrated dual capability of high speed, high capacity services (Global Xpress) together with high reliability safety-level services (FleetBroadband) in a single commercial package available anywhere in the world. "The demand for Fleet Xpress has been unprecedented since its launch at the end of March 2016, demonstrating that the market has been truly ready for the connected ship and the network supporting maritime business applications," said Ronald Spithout, President Inmarsat Maritime.

Inmarsat Signs Service Deal with Radio Holland

Inmarsat, a provider of global mobile satellite communications services, has signed a service and installation agreement with Radio Holland to support strong customer demand for rapid migration from Ku-based XpressLink to Fleet Xpress services. Satlink Signs on with Fleet Xpress, FleetBroadband

Satlink Satellite Communications Ltd, a satellite communication and technical services provider, announced that it has become an Inmarsat Partner for Fleet Xpress and FleetBroadband. Inmarsat Sees Rough Sea Ahead

The satellite communications group Inmarsat plc cautions that with the slowdown in the global economy hitting shipping, satellite communications industry faces rough weather, according to a report in Reuters. The British company, which provides data and voice connections to shipping, warned that tough trading was set to persist in its maritime and government markets this year. "We are seeing modest growing headwinds in terms of global trade slowdown and increased scrappage and lay outs," Chief Executive Rupert Pearce said. The capital expenditure forecast is more than analysts expected, and came as Inmarsat said it had revenues of $1.27 billion in 2015, similar levels to 2014. Its revenues from maritime services were $593 million in 2015, down $2.4 million from the year before.

Ericsson, Inmarsat to Streamline Supply Chain

Inmarsat and Ericsson have signed a strategic maritime agreement that is intended to facilitate the sharing of cargo, logistics and vessel operational data to help streamline the maritime supply chain. The two companies will jointly develop services, solutions and applications to drive industry standards for satellite connectivity and application integration in the maritime industry. As a first step, Ericsson has signed a distribution contract to offer XpressLink, Inmarsat’s combined L-band and Ku-band VSAT network for the maritime market. XpressLink offers an easy upgrade path to Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress service, powered by the new Global Xpress constellation, when it becomes available in the coming months.

Maersk to Install Inmarsat's Entertainment Service

Intellian FleetBroadband Compatible with Inmarsat XpressLink

TORM Streamlines Operations

SatCom Povider Immarsat Reports Growth in Maritime Data Revenue

Rupert Pearce, Inmarsat's Chief Executive Officer, said: "The results for the first quarter are in line with our expectations and give us confidence in our outlook. Strong subscriber growth of over 10% in the first quarter continues to underpin our expectations for improved results in 2012. Growth in our maritime data revenue resulted primarily from the impact of pricing initiatives, in particular as a result of the elimination of volume discounts previously available for older services where we are encouraging customer migration to our FleetBroadband service. In addition, we added 2,010 FleetBroadband terminals during the quarter, showing that take up of this service remains strong.

Imtech Marine Signs Agreement to Become Global Xpress Reseller

Rotterdam – Imtech Marine announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Inmarsat to become the first Value Added Reseller of Global Xpress. Global Xpress will be the first global Ka-band network, offering the shipping industry unprecedented speeds and reliability: up to 50Mbps through a 60-100cm antenna. Frontline Commits 100 Vessels to Inmarsat XpressLink

Inmarsat, a provider of global mobile satellite communication services, today announced that Frontline, the world leader in the international seaborne transportation of crude oil, has committed to Inmarsat XpressLink for more than 100 vessels from its existing fleet and its planned new builds. “We evaluated the providers and made a purely commercial decision about XpressLink from Inmarsat,” said Kjell S.
