Gulf Craft Makes a Splash with New Luxurious Yachts

Majesty 122 by Gulf Craft Inc.

UAE-based yacht and boat builder, Gulf Craft has made three global launches of latest super yacht - the Majesty 122, the Nomad 65 and 75 from the new collection of yachts designed for the passionate seafarer. Three new luxury yachts worth a total of Dh53 million were unveiled by Gulf Craft on the first day of the Dubai International Boat Show on Tuesday. Measuring 37.5m in length, with a fuel capacity of 25,250 litres, Majesty 122 costs a staggering $11m (Dh40.40m). It can accommodate up to 10 guests and has five spacious ensuites with an extended balcony and fly-bridge.

Constantinou began his career in Cyprus with Cobra Marine Services.

Simrad Yacthing Offers Wireless Networking Solution

Simrad Yachting announced the availability of its wireless networking solution, GoFree Wireless. Combining user-friendly mobile software and rugged marine-grade hardware, the GoFree Wireless solution consists of the GoFree Viewer and Control App, and the Simrad WIFI-1 wireless gateway. Damen Yacht Support Vessel Game Changer Sold

Dutch shipyard Damen has confirmed the successful sale of its 70-meter support vessel, Game Changer. The yacht will now return to Gorinchem in the Netherlands for further customisation. Game Changer  is Damen's fourth Yacht Support vessel sold in the 70-metre segment, proving the ongoing demand for large yachting solutions for worldwide adventures, helicopter and dive operations. Damen has a total of 12 Damen Yacht Support vessels delivered or in build. The next available Yacht Support vessel is a 55-metre YS 5009 Adventure, which will be delivered before the summer this year.

West Coast Custom Yachts Name Dealer

Crow's Nest Yachts is the new exclusive dealer for Westcoast Custom Yachts, featuring 62' and 64' Pilothouse models, and a 64' Express Cruiser. Crow’s Nest Yachts  announces it is now the exclusive West Coast dealer for Westcoast Custom Yachts, located in British Columbia, Canada. Crow’s Nest Yachts is featuring the North American-built yachts at its locations in Seattle, Newport Beach and San Diego beginning in early May. Renowned boat builder Forbes Cooper is behind Westcoast Custom Yachts. He’s been manufacturing boats since the 1970’s, first with his Cooper sailboat, and then with the Cooper Prowler series of yachts in the 1980’s. Cooper has come out of retirement to put his mark on these new well-crafted yachts.

China, HK, Macao, Dealership Agreed by Italian Yachtbuilder

Italian motorboat builder Apreamare has signed an exclusive dealership agreement for China, Hong Kong and Macao with Xiamen Smart Hero Yacht Co Ltd, one of the Smart Hero (HK) Investment Development Group’s subsidiaries, specialised in sales, management and maintenance of yachts, as well as in yacht club activities. Together with the new dealer, Apreamare will take part for the first time at the next edition of Xiamen boat show (November 2-5, 2012), displaying two models of its range: the Apreamare 64’ Fly and Maestro 56’. “After launching two new models, Smeraldo 45’ and Maestro 56’, at last Autumn’s boat shows, we are now concentrating in the strengthening of our dealer network in significant markets, such as the Chinese one,” says Apreamare president Cataldo Aprea.

Transas Marine and VEI Form Alliance

Transas Marine (USA), Inc. of Lynwood, WA, and Valhalla Enterprises, Inc. (VEI), of Fort Lauderdale, FL, have announced a manufacturers’ alliance aimed at benefiting marine electronic dealers and recreational boaters. The agreement brings together VEI, a world leading manufacturer of flat panel displays and marine computers with Transas Marine, a world leader in electronic navigation products, vessel traffic systems and training solutions, marine surveillance, and simulation systems. Russians to Acquire Fairline Boats

Crisis-hit yacht manufacturer Fairline Boats has been saved after the firm was bought by two Russian investors. A new company, Fairline Acquisitions, funded by two UK-based Russian investors with a background in the marine sector, is to take on the failed company’s order book and initially plans to recruit around 100 of the 380 staff who were made redundant before Christmas. It will be run by Russell Currie, who has been a Fairline dealer for 18 years where he has made sales of more than £90 million. Currie said: “I am delighted to have been appointed managing director for Fairline Yachts.

WESMAR Adds Dealer in Italy

Italy is a region marine electronics and equipment manufacturer WESMAR has served with its roll fin stabilizers and its stainless steel counter rotating bow and stern thrusters for many years. Today, WESMAR announced a further expansion into the Italian market with the appointment of Yachtalia of Massa, Italy, as its newest international dealer. Yachtalia joins a network of hundreds of WESMAR dealers around the world. The company is situated on the Mediterranean Sea between the western coast of Italy and the islands of Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily. According to WESMAR’s International Sales Manager Michael Vourtsis, Yachalia will work closely with WESMAR’s Southern Europe Operations Manager Pierre Marachel.

Volvo Penta Appoints New Caribbean Dealers

Volvo Penta of the Americas today announced the appointment of Scotts Marine of Grand Cayman and Pirate Marine Hardware of Cozumel as full-line sales and service dealers. Founded in 1985, Scotts Marine is a full-service marine center, offering a comprehensive range of boats, motors, trailers, batteries, gensets, parts, accessories and electronics, in addition to maintenance and service. The company is the authorized dealer for major brands including Volvo Penta partners Tiara Yachts, Cobalt and Starcraft.

Caterpillar Marine and Cat Dealer Pon Power announced the first Cat 3512C marine generator sets with Dynamic Gas Blending (DGB) have been selected to power Assessoria Transporte Aquaviaro fast ferries for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A total of 28 Cat generator sets will be installed on seven aluminum-hull fast ferries, with 14x Cat 3512 generator sets and 14x Cat 9 generator sets providing prime and auxiliary power. Each 3512 generator set will provide 1,550 eKW at 60 Hz of rated power.

Volvo Penta Conducts Training for Dealer Network

Volvo Penta of the Americas conducted a custom training course in Cancun, Mexico recently, providing full instruction in the assembly, repair and alignment of IPS engines for its regional dealer network in Mexico and Central America. Seventeen technicians attended the series of five-day, Spanish-language classes held at Pirate Marine in Cancun. They received a full training on Volvo Penta’s IPS forward-facing propulsion system, along with EVC accessories and Vodia diagnostics for IPS.

Linssen Yachts Signs Agreement with Raymarine

One of the Netherlands' oldest and most respected yacht builders, Linssen Yachts, has confirmed an exclusive supply agreement with marine electronics manufacturer Raymarine. The two companies have worked together for a number of years. With the formation of the new Raymarine Nederland subsidiary, Linssen yachts has chosen to sign an exclusive supply agreement stating that it provides additional benefits for both the company and its customers. Linssen Yacht customers are able to personally select from Raymarine’s complete range of marine electronics, from multifunction displays to thermal imaging cameras, autopilots to man overboard safety systems. Yacht owners can now benefit from the new 3-year onboard warranty when the product is registered under Raymarine’s extended warranty scheme.

Palumbo Buys Mondomarine

Italian yard Palumbo Group has acquired the former Mondomarine facility in Savona on an initial six-month lease, reports local media. "By leasing the business unit of the Savona shipyard, Palumbo Group will grant the restart of the shipyard's activities, along with the immediate reinstatement of nine employees." Palumbo Group explained in a statement. The deal saves 9 jobs from the Italian shipyard that went into liquidation towards the end of 2017, which put a total of 57 jobs at risk.

MV Werften Cuts First Steel for Crystal Endeavor

Shipbuilder MV Werften said it has begun building Crystal’s new luxury expedition yacht, Crystal Endeavor, with first steel cut on January 15 at its shipyard in Stralsun, Germany. Set to debut in 2020, Crystal Endeavor will be Crystal’s largest and most spacious purpose-built Polar Class ship featuring all-suite, butler-serviced accommodations, and adventure in polar regions and other remote destinations.
