Yanmar Buys Majority Stake in Battery Tech Company ELEO

Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd., announced it has acquired a majority share in ELEO Technologies B.V., a battery technology company based in the Netherlands, as the Japanese multibillion dollar multinational company aims to advance its electrified powertrain capabilities.The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Yanmar said it acquired a majority share in ELEO through its subsidiary Yanmar Europe B.V., by means of a series of related transactions including a full exit of early-stage investor Lumipol GroupAfter joining the Yanmar Group as part of Yanmar Power Technology Co.…

Yanmar Hires Nordics Regional Manager

Yanmar, VETUS Cooperate Under Separate Names

On April 1, 2013, VETUS joined the Yanmar group. Immediately after the acquisition both parties started working closely together on a project with the objective to realize a brand and distribution strategy for both Yanmar and VETUS. In December 2013 the results of this project were presented to both Yanmar and VETUS sales and distribution networks. The most important conclusion is that both brands, VETUS and Yanmar will remain as two separate brands, for both the marine engine range as other systems. VETUS products will not be relabeled as Yanmar, or vice versa. Yanmar offers propulsion systems, while VETUS creates complete boat systems.

Yanmar Announces VETUS to join Yanmar Group

Yanmar said VETUS has joined the Yanmar Group as of January 1, 2013.  VETUS is a well-known player in the international market for its in-house engineered boat equipment systems. By VETUS joining the group, Yanmar has acquired a serious partner to further increase its footprint in the marine industry. Coming from the same industry, both companies have developed sales and service networks over many years of operation, and both companies are present in many countries worldwide. While Yanmar celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012 and VETUS will have its 50th in 2014, they combine more than 150 years of engineering knowledge and experience.
