Gulf LNG Tugs to Provide Towage at Texas LNG Terminal in Brownsville

Gulf LNG Tugs of Texas has been selected to provide towage services for the Texas LNG export terminal to be constructed in the Port of Brownsville.Gulf LNG Tugs, a consortium of Suderman & Young Towing Company, Bay-Houston Towing, and Moran Towing Corporation, will build, deliver and operate tugboats under a long term agreement to assist LNG carriers arriving at the facility.Texas LNG will be a 4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal owned and managed by Glenfarne Energy Transition.

Gulf LNG Orders Four New Tugs

Gulf LNG Tugs of Brownsville has ordered four new tugs to serve the Rio Grande LNG export facility (RGLNG), which has commenced construction in Brownsville, Texas.Gulf LNG Tugs is a joint venture formed between Bay-Houston Towing Co., Moran Towing Corporation and Suderman & Young Towing Company to provide tug services for RGLNG under a long-term tug services agreement.The company announced Tuesday it signed construction contracts with Coden, Ala. shipyard Master Boat Builders and Port Neches, Texas shipbuilder Sterling Shipyard.

Master Boat Builders to Construct New Tug for Suderman & Young

Master Boat Builders, Inc. on Wednesday announced it has executed a contract to build a new tugboat in its Coden, Ala., yard for Suderman & Young Towing Company of Houston, Texas. Master Boat Builders currently has three tugs under construction of a different design for Suderman & Young.Naval architect and marine engineering firm, Robert Allan Ltd. designed the tugboat, which will meet U.S. Coast Guard Subchapter M regulations and will be classed through the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).The tugboat will have an overall length of 98’-6”…

Master Boat Builders Building Two New Tugs for Suderman & Young

Master Boat Builders, Inc. on Monday announced it will construct two new tugboats in its Coden, Ala., yard for Suderman and Young Towing Company of Houston, Texas.Under a contract order signed in February 2021, Suderman & Young will receive two vessels scheduled for delivery starting in July 2022. This summer, Master Boat Builders laid the keel for the first of the vessels.The tugboats will have an overall length of 85 feet, beam of 38.5 feet, and produce a bollard pull of over 52 metric tonnes.

Gulf Island Delivers Second of 10 Escort Tugs

Gulf Island Fabrication has announced that its Shipyard Division has successfully delivered the M/V Ted C. Litton, a Z-Tech 30-80 Terminal/Escort Tug to Suderman & Young Towing Company.The M/V Ted C. Litton was designed by Robert Allan Ltd of Vancouver, BC. and built at Gulf Island’s, Jennings, Louisiana facilities. The vessel will be operated by G &H Towing on behalf of Suderman & Young Towing Company. Gulf Island is currently building nine (8) sister vessels that are at various stages of construction.The M/V Ted C.

Another Tug Launched for Suderman & Young

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. said it launched on August 15, 2016 the final vessel in a series of four Z-Tech Class Terminal & Escort Tugs being constructed for Suderman & Young Towing Company. The tug Poseidon is scheduled to be delivered later in 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Patrick D’Isernia, Project Manager of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. He spoke about the dedication and hard work of all of ESG’s employees, making the series of tugs a success.

Eastern Delivers Escort Tug to Suderman & Young

On July 29, 2016, Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. delivered Oceanus (Hull# 240), the third in series of four identical Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs built for Suderman & Young Towing Company at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class terminal and escort tugs built for Bay-Houston Towing Co. The Laura B is scheduled to deliver in 2016. The launch ceremony was on July 1, 2016 at the builder’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Patrick D’Isernia, Project Manager at Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class terminal and escort tugs currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility for Bay-Houston Towing Co. The lead vessel in the series, H. Douglas M (ESG Hull #236), was delivered on February 5, 2016. Eastern is also constructing another identical series of four tugs for Suderman & Young Towing Company.

The ZYANA K (ESG Hull #238) is the second in a series of four Z-Tech Class Terminal & Escort Tugs being constructed for Bay-Houston Towing Co. The H. DOUGLAS M (ESG Hull #236), the lead vessel in the series, delivered on February 5, 2016.

Tug Launched for Suderman & Young at Eastern

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. launched the Escort Tug OCEANUS for Suderman & Young Towing Company on April 26, 2016. This series of Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The vessel is scheduled for delivery later in July 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Joey D’Isernia, President of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. He spoke about the dedication and hard work of all of ESG’s employees, making the series of tugs a success. Father Roy Marien of St. John’s Catholic Church of Panama City blessed the vessel and Eastern’s own, accounting assistant Carol McMillin, had the honor of christening the vessel.

Eastern Shipbuilding Launches the Zyana K

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. has launched the Escort Tug ZYANA K (Hull 238) for Bay-Houston Towing Co. on February 19, 2016. A series of four Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The ZYANA K is scheduled to deliver in 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Patrick D’Isernia, Project Manager at Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. Patrick praised the Eastern employees for all their hard work and G&H Towing for their commitment to the project. Deacon Earl Mirus of St. John’s Catholic Church of Panama City, FL. blessed the vessel. Jennie Frey had the honor of christening the vessel.

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. delivered the Escort Tug H. DOUGLAS M for Bay-Houston Towing Company on February 5th, 2016. This series of Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The H. DOUGLAS M (ESG Hull #236) is the first in a series of four (4) Z-Tech Class Terminal & Escort Tugs being constructed for Bay-Houston Towing Company. Eastern is also constructing another identical series of four (4) tugs for Suderman & Young Towing Company. G&H Towing Company is the Owners’ onsite Representative and Agent during the engineering, construction and delivery for both Bay-Houston and Suderman & Young. G&H Towing Company will operate the vessels after delivery.

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. launched the Escort Tug NEPTUNE for Suderman & Young Towing Company on January 5, 2016. This series of Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The vessel is scheduled to deliver in the second quarter of this year. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Joey D’Isernia, President of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. Mike Nigro, V.P. of G&H Towing shared a few words about the quality work and commitment of the companies involved, Mike’s wife Lisa and Father Roy Marien of St. John’s Catholic Church of Panama City blessed the vessel.

TRITON (Hull #235) is the first of a series four (4) Z-Tech Class Terminal & Escort Tugs being constructed for Suderman & Young Towing Company. Eastern is also building another identical series of four (4) tugs for Bay-Houston Towing Company.

(RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The H. DOUGLAS M is scheduled to deliver in early 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Joey D’Isernia, President of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. U.S. Shipbuilding: ESG Nabs Two Z-Drive Tug Contracts

Eastern Shipbuilding (ESG) said that Suderman & Young Towing Company and Bay Houston Towing Company each exercised one additional Z-Drive Tug to be built at ESG. This brings the total to six of the new Robert Allan, Ltd. Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs built at ESG's Panama City, FL facilities. G&H will provide the onsite representation for both owners as the owner's agent during the construction and delivery phases of the contracts. At delivery, G&H Towing will operate each vessels, as in the past. Length 80 ft. Breadth 38.25 ft. Depth: 15.75 ft.

(RAL) Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs at Eastern’s Panama City, Florida facilities. ESG added that G & H Towing Company will provide the onsite representation for both owners as their agent during the engineering, construction and delivery phases of these contracts. Robert Allan Z-Tech Tugboats for Galveston, Texas, Harbour

Designers, Robert Allan, inform that Leevac Shipyards has completed the construction of the second of their  Z-Tech designed 2400 tugs. The latest, 'Zeus', has been delivered to its owners Suderman & Young Towing Company of Houston, Texas following the earlier delivery of her sister 'Chloe K' to her owners: Bay-Houston Towing Co. of Houston, Texas. Both tugs are operated by G&H Towing of Galveston, Texas on behalf of their owners. The Z-Tech Class tugs from Robert Allan Ltd. are designed primarily for operation in major ports and marine terminals.

LEEVAC Shipyards Contracted to Build TwoTugboats

LEEVAC Shipyards Jennings, LLC, Jennings, LA, has signed contracts with Bay Houston Towing Co. and Suderman & Young Towing Company, both of Houston, TX, to build two (2) 80' x 38' x 16' Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal / Escort Tugs. "We are very excited to have this opportunity to begin this partnership with companies like Bay Houston and Suderman & Young" said Christian Vaccari, President of LEEVAC. "These vessels wil primarily service the escort and towing activity in our operations in the Ports of Houston and Galveston," said Mark Kuebler of Bay Houston Towing, Co. Construction for this Robert Allan design will begin immediately with delivery for the first and second vessels slated in June 2013 and September 2013, respectively.
