Wilhelmsen, MPC Capital Acquire Zeaborn

Zeaborn to Integrate Wärtsilä Fleet Operations Solution

Hamburg-based third-party ship manager Zeaborn Ship Management (ZSM) has chosen Wärtsilä Voyage’s Fleet Operations Solution (FOS) as the digital navigation platform for its managed tanker fleet. Each of its 12 vessels will deploy the system, enabling ZSM to benchmark voyage execution, support the safety of the fleet and reduce crew workload.FOS integrates Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) with voyage planning functions as well as enabling a ship-to-shore link from the system.

MAS Integrates Fuel Monitoring System Onboard

Solar Array Installed on Cargo Ship

The marine renewable energy technology company Eco Marine Power (EMP) announced that its Aquarius MAS + Solar solution has been installed on the large general cargo ship MV Panamana.The  Japan-based EMP said in a press release that this installation was carried out by the ship’s crew with remote support provided by Zeaborn Ship Management (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and EMP from Japan.Over the next few weeks the solar power equipment will be integrated with EMP’s Aquarius Management & Automation System (MAS) and then put into service.MV Panamana is a 54, 694 metric tonne (MT) open hatch general cargo/container carrier with 2 x 70 MT gantry cranes. The ship is owned by Masterbulk Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) and was built by Oshima Shipbuilding Co.

Zeaborn: 100 vessels to be EU Hazardous Compliant

Germany’s Zeaborn Ship Management has contracted Verifavia Shipping and the Korean Register (KR) to perform inventory of hazardous materials (IHM) preparation and certification for over 100 vessels.The vessels are managed by Zeaborn Ship Management, a consolidation of E.R. Schiffahrt and Rickmers Shipmanagement, and must be IHM compliant to meet the terms of the EU Ship Recycling Regulation (EU SRR) and the Hong Kong (HK) International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships.The HK Convention is aimed at reducing the negative impact of ship recycling on human health and safety, and on the environment. Zeaborn Acquires CPO Tankers

Zeaborn Group has signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Claus-Peter Offen Tankschiffreederei KG, the tanker management subsidiary of Offen Group.The transaction partners signed the relevant contracts on April 29. The completion of the transaction is subject to antitrust clearance. The parties have agreed to keep the key financial data confidential.With the takeover of CPO Tankers, Zeaborn stays on track concerning its strategy to further consolidate the shipping industry and expanding its services as an integrated and globally active shipping company.

Launching this week in partnership with Airbus, Wilhelmsen’s shore-to-ship Singapore pilot project, marks the first deployment of drone technology in real-time port conditions, delivering a variety of small, time-critical items to working vessels at anchorage.Lifting off from Marina South Pier in Singapore with 3D printed consumables from Wilhelmsen’s onshore 3D printing micro-factory, the Airbus Skyways drone navigated autonomously along pre-determined ‘aerial-corridors’ in its 1.5km flight to Eastern Working Anchorage.

Verifavia Shipping Leads in EU MRV and IMO DCS IT System Certification

Eco Marine Power, Masterbulk Install UltraBattery Onboard Ship

Japanese technology company Eco Marine Power (EMP) has joined forces with Singapore shipping company Masterbulk for the world-first Installation of class-approved UltraBattery (UB) onboard ship.A joint press release announced that the UB battery pack manufactured by the Furukawa Battery Company (Furukawa Battery) has been installed on the large general cargo ship – MV Panamana.This battery pack will later form part of an Aquarius Marine Solar Power solution developed by EMP and be evaluated jointly with Masterbulk and ZEABORN Ship Management (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.The battery pack installed on the ship incorporates class-approved UB-50-12 Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries along with an easy to install marine-grade battery frame kit.

Wallem, Zeaborn Choose Verifavia Shipping for EU MRV Monitoring

Wallem Ship Management in Hong Kong and Zeaborn Ship Management in Hamburg have chosen  Verifavia Shipping for European Union (EU) Reporting and Verification (MRV) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Data Collection System (DCS), as well as certification of associated IT systems.The emissions verification company for the transport sector said in a press release that trough their agreement with Zeaborn Ship Management, Verifavia Shipping will provide EUV verification services as well as the status of their flag.It will also be certified by Zeaborn Ship Management for these regulations. For Wallem, Verifavia will also provide verification services for EU MRV and IMO DCS across a number of its Liberia and Panama flagged vessels, and Vertex SMMS.
