Cammell Laird Begins āSecond Chapterā of RFA Cluster Contract
Merseyside shipyard and engineering firm Cammell Laird has formally started the second five year cycle of its biggest single contract. Work began in June 2013 on the second period of Cammell Lairdās through-life support cluster contract to maintain nine of the 13 ships in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) flotilla. The cluster contract was first awarded to Cammell Laird in 2008 and following reviews of performance and value for money the contract was extended for a further five years to 2018.
Mubarak to Build New Shipbuilding Facility in Dubai
Dubai Maritime City LLC (DMC), the world-class mixed-use maritime cluster, announced the signing of long term partnership agreement with Mubarak Marine LLC. The agreement is for the development of an industrial complex project for maritime services, shipbuilding and repair worth AED 130 million. This complex will enable Mubarak Marine to establish their headquarters as well as a major marine workshop and maintenance facility.

Boskalis Sells Stake in Middle East Maritime Contractors
Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has sold its 40% stake in Archirodon Group N.V. Boskalis explain that the possible sale had already been announced in November 2012 after Boskalis was approached by the party in question from the Middle East. The equity interest was partly sold to this party and partly to the existing 60% co-shareholder. Boskalis received a cash sum of USD 190 million for its 40% stake, resulting in a book gain of several tens of millions of euros.

Reflex Marine Reports 52% Growth
Reflex Marine reported 52% growth in the last year through expanding global markets. Reflex said it has reached £5.8 million turnover, almost double its forecasted growth of 27% - with a profit before tax of around £1 million. Reflex Marine will donate 7.5% of its net profits (a record c.£56,000) to charitable causes via its not-for-profit Reflex Foundation.
