China's COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard has secured a contract from Aberdeen-based Sentinel Marine to build a TAERRV (Tanker Assist / Emergency Response / Rescue / Field Support Vessel).

Cosco says the vessel’s expected delivery date is in the first quarter of 2017.   Sentinel Marine has an option to order an additional TAERRV within six months.
The shipbuilder and the client have agreed to keep the contract price confidential and the contract includes an option for a second vessel. According to a press release by the yard, COSCO Guangdong and Sentinel Marine have agreed to keep the contract price confidential.
The announcement comes as Cosco Shipyard urges cooperation between yards and rig owners during the offshore market's current downturn.
Sentinel Marine has been awarded a Statoil (UK) Ltd contract to provide a new multi role Emergency Response & Rescue Vessel (ERRV) to support operations on the Mariner field on the U.K. Continental Shelf.
At that time, Sentinel said the new 65 m ship, to be named Mariner Sentinel, will be custom built for Statoil and provide emergency cover, firefighting, oil spill response preparedness and tanker assist capabilities for the Mariner field.
