Steinberg Retires from IPS

Industrial Power Systems, Inc. (IPS) announced the retirement of Jerry Steinberg, after almost 16 years with the company as its Vice President – Sales & Marketing. Jerry is being replaced by Michael Phelan as its new Director of Sales & Marketing.

Jerry graduated from the University of Illinois in 1961, and immediately after graduation joined Cummins Engine Co., where he had several domestic positions in Columbus, Indiana before moving into their International Sales organization with time living in both London, England and Sao Paulo, Brazil. This was followed by a number of years with Waukesha Engine, ending as their VP – Sales & Marketing. Jerry then had a number of years in the distribution business, working with both Power Equipment Inc. in Ohio and Reagan Equipment Co. in Florida. He had his own export sales company, Global Marketing Services, for almost four years, before joining IPS on December 15, 1993 and he ended his career there on April 30, 2009.

IPS designs and builds electrical controls, switchgear and automation systems for marine and industrial applications. IPS also builds to meet international standards including CSA, IEC and other regulatory and classification societies including Lloyd’s, Transport Canada, and Det Norske Veritas for marine applications.
