Air conditioned respirator supply systems supplier Tennessee Chill Box, LLC (TCB) launched a new air-supply, mask and hood system designed to expand the industry-reach of its air conditioned respirator supply systems to include all those that would normally require a respirator or hood to safely perform their duties.
This system will supply cool, fresh, breathable air to a respirator mask or hood for two men operating up to 200 feet away from the system, making it suitable for insulation installers, automotive and marine applications, welders, tank restoration, hazmat/asbestos removal and other applications requiring a fresh-air respirator system. The Tennessee Chill Box was designed to eliminate exhaustion, cramps, fatigue, nausea, dizziness and weakness usually associated with poor ventilation in the workplace.
“For those working in poorly ventilated areas, our system provides a constant stream of freshly chilled air that increases both their safety and productivity,” said Mike Asbra, Founder at Tennessee Chill Box, LLC. “Our system was designed to specifically address the needs of improved air flow while also cooling the air, which leads to a more comfortable breathing environment. When working in a hot and cramped environment, such as an attic when spraying insulation, breathing comfortable is not only safer but far more productive.”
The Tennessee Chill Box has been designed and field-tested over the past decade; it produces and supplies fresh or air conditioned air to respirators. NIOSH requires a minimum of 4 CFM for mask application and 6 CFM for Hood Respirators, with a maximum 15 CFM to the end user. The Tennessee Chill Box produces 97 CFM’s at the exterior manifold, far exceeding safety requirements allowing the use of dual-air lines.
